There was no media coverage whatsoever of this. How disgusting that women being subjected to unwanted glimpses of male genitalia doesn’t warrant a mention.

Well that's an extremely odd thing to say. If you read the comlaint that is linked in the post you cite, it's based on mediar reports. Hmm. . . a legal complaint that's based on media reports and you are complainting thet there is no mediar coverage??? Heres one of the many articles that appear to have formed the basis for the complaint.

Now I agree that the entire issue was ignored by main stream media for weeks. Swimming World Magazine has been covering it fairly and repeatedly this entire swim season and the Washington Post is finally writing reasonable articles about it. But they ignored this story for weeks and let conservative media be the only voice paying any attention. Liberals generally have buried their heads and hoped this would go away. What's still missing is the voice of organizations that claim to defend women's rights. ACLU, Women's Legal Defense Fund. . . Where is a a column by Sally Jenkins? She's been quiet after speaking out for years defending women's equity in sports. It's possible these organizations just don't care about protecting athletic opportunity for cis women as much as they care about allowing trans women to benefit from their biological advantages in women's sports categories. But they should have the BALLS to say so. Silence is really a disservice to everyone and any athlete or parent of a female athlete that is paying attention knows what the silence means.

This is bigger than just athletics. This is a disservice and attack on biologic females everywhere. I consider myself a liberal and I am disgusted how we are allowing this to happen. Transwomen are not biological women. Transwomen will not know what it is to menstruate, to have a baby, to go through menopause. I support the rights of a trans-woman to a point. What is happening is a threat to women everywhere. If this allowed in swimming, it just won't stop there.

Agreed and so truly bizarre that Women’s rights organizations don’t get this. Signed- another liberal woman who has never in my life voted for a Republican.

Institutional capture. Because the transgender movement is run by white males who have spent their lives colonizing spaces, they know how it is done. They flooded gay and women’s rights groups with more and more money starting 20 years ago and ramping up over the past decade. They also manipulated marriage equality to make the case that traditional gay rights have been won and now it’s time for a new “minority” to be “helped.” Most women’s groups and gay rights groups are completely beholden now to the money flowing from wealthy white males styled as transgender women and their boards are filled with these people.

They have completely captured and neutralized the groups that one would expect to stand up for the women and children in this horrible movement’s crosshairs. Crazily enough, conservatives, libertarians, and other people who aren’t beholden to liberal donors are now our best hope to beat back this transgender horde.

Post the link. Torri is an American record holder and represented the US in the olympics last summer.

This makes me really sad because I want to be fully supportive of trans rights but it does not seem like there's a way to do that without discriminating against/harming cis women athletes, which is what this is.

I no longer support most of what trans people claim as rights. They’re playing a zero sum game while women are doing that stupid conciliatory thing we’re socialized to do. It’s time to push back hard on these predators.

This. The white men behind this movement have successfully guilted women to "Be Kind!", but there is no f#$*ing way I'm going to be kind about an exposed p*nis in the women's locker room. Notice that they never want to enter men's private spaces, just women's private spaces.

I am extremely pro-choice, but I would literally sacrifice abortion rights by voting Republican to stop this madness, on the theory that even women I know who've had a LOT of abortions have had, like, two. I'd rather my daughters have to travel out of state/ country for that, versus being sexually assaulted in the middle school girls' locker room by a boy who self-identified as a girl that day, or losing their opportunity to ever win anything in any sport. Democrats can't possibly think the majority of the public will be on board with this.

This is exactly how I feel.

Especially with the funds for women’s health increasingly being rerouted towards transgender women, I don’t know what value the right to abortion will be with women’s spaces and women’s healthcare thoroughly colonized by men. This fight against men self-IDing into our identities is fundamental to our survival as more than just the “people with uteruses” transgender-identified men refer to us as.

Men would never stand for any of this. That’s why this parasitic species has migrated to easy pickings — women. And, sadly, most of us are primed to accept second class status. We’re receiving this hateful group of men with open arms in the name of inclusivity.

As my brother said, in a fight between women's rights and trans' rights, women will win. He's surprised that it's gotten this far. But he knows that when it comes right down to it, women will protect their turf, just as men do. That's exactly what this thread is about.

Its not only that. Its the erasure of women and the terms used to define them - such as breastfeeding becoming chestfeeding just to appease them.

Hah you think this is some conspiracy by white men? I doubt it. Concepts like DEI and gender pronouns originated at universities, and in departments that tend to have majority female enrollment and faculty.

Sorry to see the nazis are back. Get therapy. You are exposed and no American wants anything to do with you.

I wish Lia Thomas would just quit swimming and go away. There are something like a million trans people in the US and one Lia Thomas. How many trans people actually want to participate in sports anyway? Probably less than 100 in all sports in the country.

In terms of the off topic posts blaming trans women for more inclusive language, well transgender women have absolutely nothing to do with it. Transgender women will never be a pregnant woman or a pregnant person. Trans women will never be a woman with a uterus or a person with one. All this language is to be inclusive of transgender men and NB's that are AFAB. Literally has nothing to do with Lia Thomas (which is the point of this thread) or any other transgender woman. Literally no trans woman has asked for you to be called a pregnant person. Ever.

I wish we had more gender neutral bathrooms. I'm sure no one here wants a transgender person (woman or man) changing in front of your husbands or sons any more than you want them changing in front of you or your daughters. That being said, most trans people wouldn't do what the letter says Lia did. 99.9% would change in a stall.

You mean the same universities where less than 20% of tenured professors are women and no women lead the universities? The same universities where female professors who question gender are denied tenure, denied publication, protested, and fired?
