Has the Heights ever beat an IAC team?
Maybe STA? |
This looks pretty close. If you’ve followed SJ you’d know they’ve really not relied much on transfers in lacrosse, pretty much their whole team is homegrown so to speak, though they did add what looks to be a good FOGo. |

Switch PVI and Landon.
Until PVI beats Landon, it’s hard to put them ahead of the Bears. Otherwise, these rankings look pretty solid. |
I know summer should not count but they did beat Bullis. The team is almost all returning and the goalie seemed like a solid replacement at NHSLS |
Pretty spot on here. Yes, PVI belongs above Landon and Gonzaga. Heights at 8? Might have jumped the gun with that pick. Good chance they have more talent than DM, STA or Episcopal next year, but we don’t know how good of a coach the younger Mitchell brother is. |

hard to even put PVI above Gonzaga when the panthers have never won a WCAC lacrosse championship.
they tend to choke in big games. have they ever won a vissa title? they couldn't even beat the 5th place team from the IAC this spring in VA private state tournament this Spring... I'd go with the following for next year. 1. SJC 2. GP 3. Landon 4. Bullis 5. GZ 6. PVI 7. Saint Stephens 8. Episcopal 9. DeMatha 10. STA save the talk about the Heights please. until they actually beat a decent program, its really hard to gauge where they fall in the pecking order. |
Agree with most, except for your points for #10. STA's 2023 class is the strongest they have had in years, but that is not saying much compared to other top programs in the DMV. They may have 5 or 6 decent players, but other top schools have double those numbers. Not to mention the talent falls off dramatically after those top players. Their 2021 class only had one college commit and the 2022s don't have any. Their 2023 fogo was pretty good, but got injured half way though the season and did not return. Also, their LSM is overrated and definitely not the #1 LSM in the area. That title goes to Prep's 2023 LSM who is light years ahead of STA's LSM. Their talent and athleticism is not even comparable and some would argue there are other stronger LSMs in the DMV who deserve higher ranking than STAs. |

SJC will be the team to beat next year, maybe nationally. Getting a faceoff kid of their new one's caliber puts them in rarefied air. The might make a run at #1.
Agreed that Prep's LSM is likely the best in the area. Having seen them both play a couple of times, I give the edge to Prep's 24. St. Albans's LSM is very good, but I think Prep's LSM is better. Not sure Bullis beats Landon next year, and I think Prep and Landon have a dogfight next year. DC Dogs, DC Dogs, DC Dogs, but how many of them played quality minutes this year? Prep graduates their whole first midfield, two attackmen, at least one defenseman, and I think a goalie? Their faceoff kid returns, and he is a difference maker, and will be the key to their success next year. Wouldn't put PVI over Landon until PVI beats Landon once. Obviously, I am a Landon homer. |
| Preps LSM was supposed to be a senior this past year. Double holdbacks won’t get recruited like the STA LSM. Kid is a natural talent. |
SJ keeps bringing in transfers? Name one besides the 2023 face off midfielder and his 2024 brother. |
| Not a SJC booster here, but SJC solving their FOGO problem is a huge story. It was pretty much the only position on the field that wasn’t elite. Now they bring in one of the best FOGOs of the entire 2023 class. Next year’s team could legitimately be the best in the country. Good for them and DMV lacrosse. Would love to watch them mow down the overhyped and over rated MIAA teams. |

MLSCA All-State teams are out. About what I expected from the WCAC and IAC teams I saw this year.
http://www.mslca.org/allstate_teams |
| Only Maryland based schools qualify, hence All-State. |
| Also shows the underachieving at Bullis this year. Plenty of top talent that did not translate into success on the field. |
Pretty sad he is that old if that is the case |
