prior thread got blocked, I'm assuming for the political comments...lets keep that stuff out of it!
Sounds like Bullis beat Taft. Huge win for the Bulldogs...they have to be the #1 team right now, right? |
|
Bullis will be the favorite and clear cut #1 team coming out of the DC area this Spring.
|
|
1. Bullis.
2. Gonzaga 3. GP 4. Landon 5. Saint Stephens 6. SJC 7. PVI 8. Episcopal 9. DeMatha 10. Riverside (VA) HM: STA, Saint Andrews, |
| No way is SS ranked over SJC. They should be right behind Bullis and GP |
|
SJC has a weak senior class and lost a very talented goalie and they graduated the best player on their roster last year.
I would maybe put them over Saint Stephens (I know very little about teams across the river) but I wouldn't put the CADETS above GP or Landon or Gonzaga. |

Riverside can beat Episocopal and Dematha. But point taken. Why not “rank” the publics separately as recruiting and reclassing makes any comparison to the privates somewhat misleading.
It’s Riverside and everyone else. Loaded as usual. |
| Riverside has many talented players, but before you say you can beat Episcopal/DeMatha you must schedule the game and then win. I don't understand why local public schools in Va & MD don't use each out of conference game to play a strong private. I believe publics can schedule 3 out of conference games but seldom do they use all 3 to play DMV privates. |

| Exactly. It's not a fair fight and is akin to why the wcac football teams have a hard time scheduling area teams because of their financial recruiting. For lax, the usl teams should be allowed to play down in class based tournaments. Riverside might be competitive with 1 top 10 private on one given day. |
| i Ref a lot of games. Riverside is better than you think. Move the ball like the top privates, many kids with very good stick skills. Many athletes, two of them superb. Carry themselves like the disciplined privates. Never a word out of them and easy to talk to. Enjoyable to ref. |
| Privates vs public programs at Fall Brawl yesterday was a joke, with both sides missing lots of players. |
What privates were at Fall Brawl? |
PVI was masquerading as Churchill. |
|
Of course PVI was there.
Beat up on the publics but avoid the big boy’s at the prime time events. Depending on the year, Riverside would be maybe able to compete with STA, DeMatha and Episcopal. DeMatha’s program appears to be on the rise these days as is STAs. |
