Maybe because some of us like this show?

Sweetheart, if it upsets you so bad that people dislike your new obsession stop replying to them. This is a forum full of snark. Most threads about shows here are about how bad they are or how people hate watch it. The fact that you keep trying to control what people watch and that you think it's so strange and bizarre that people on DCUM might take the puss out of something is what people are now laughing at and reading this thread for.

The woman who created this show is a bit of a hypocrite and a terrible actress, the ratings are bad, and it's got a lowbrow element of the three stooges that some people find offputting. You are just going to have to accept that some people are going to post negatively about it.

Does using "sweetheart" make you feel like you have some kind of checkmate? Because, if you havent noticed, a lot of people have called you out for having embarrassing posts.

Time to look in the mirror, babe.

I used sweetheart, because I felt bad for the poster who keeps getting upset anytime someone hates on the show. I haven't seen anyone call out one of my few posts on this thread as embarrassing. I think you were referring to the poster I called "sweetheart", which I used as intended - not in a snarky or condescending way.

I dont think anyone's upset, I think they're amused at how embarrassingly obsessed with this show you are.

As I explained I used it as a kindness. No passive aggression. If you think thats embarrassing okay. I still think you had the wrong person to begin with and now just can't admit to it.

Oh please. If you reall used it with no snarl intended then you are socially quite obtuse, because it's a totally innaporopriate (and obviously going to be taken as passive aggressive) word to use in an argument.

I wasn't arguing. I was giving the poster some advice to not take negative posts on DCUM to heart and to stop responding to them because its just giving fuel to the fire. Sweetheart is not inappropriate (at least I think that is the word you were going for) nor is it passive aggressive. Also, thanks for the psych evaluation however I can assure you I am not "socially quite obtuse".

Enjoy it while it lasts, heard the ratings were really bad. I watched it twice, she is too annoying, it is so phony and poorly acted. I give it one season. As someone who lived on the upper east side in NY for 6 years, I can tell you that its a jungle but that its not THAT bad.

I think it's hilarious. No one on that show is immune from mockery - not the UES moms, or the Brooklyn-ites, and especially not the main character. It's an exaggeration of all these "types".

Ratings are still bad though. Maybe it'll get a second season since bravo only has two scripted series. I wish I could like this and I've tried, but it's off my dvr. It's getting stupider/lamer by the episode.

Agreed.

The kind of people who like this show are the type who enjoy Cathy comics.

LMAO. That is dead on.

Are either of you able to say you dislike a show without slamming those who do like it?

I've never seen a more overly sensitive fanbase on DCUM before. Maybe its just one person, but its amusing to watch them get huffy over anyone who dislikes this piece of shit show.

And yet you still watch it and still post on this thread... that's the funniest part!

No, the funniest part is reading the SUPER EXCITED OMG SO FUNNY posts by the people who just lurve this show. I don't watch the show, I'm reading this thread because it amuses me. You are not pointing out anything clever or ironic. Reading certain threads on DCUM is usually enough junk food for most.

It's hilarious. I get so much secondhand embarassment who are treating this sure to be cancelled show like it's the next Seinfeld.

It's funny that you would choose a "Glee" meme to convey your "secondhand embarrassment". The irony is so delicious.

You nailed it. I'm the lucky one who was referred to as "sweetheart" (no, not condescendingly at all!). It doesn't bother me if people don't like a show I like - but when they try to derail an entire thread with their moronic insults directed towards the fans, then it seems to veer into some major obsession with declaring over and over how "stupid" the show and everyone associated with it is (including the viewers who like it). So peculiar that anyone would waste time with a show they hate, don't you think? I suspect there's more to it, like maybe some of you actually know Jill Kargman, are insanely jealous, and are desperately hoping her show gets cancelled.

Some mighty passive aggressive posters here. First they throw out their asshole remarks, and then they claim we're "too sensitive," or "I'm so sorry you took it the wrong way!" B.S.

Sweetheart, I have no problem with people hating this show or any other. It's when you haters decide to make out the rest of us (you know, those of us who are having a good time discussing a funny show) as simpletons or idiots. You seem unable to criticize the show without making nasty digs at the fans.

I think it's you and your groupies who need to learn how to criticize shows without slamming other people who don't share your views. Or is it you who wants to control this thread?

First of all, I am not a hater - I was trying to give you some advice, because from your posts you seem upset over people disliking this show. No matter how much you say you don't have a problem with it. Some sort of nerve must have been struck with you here, because you've gone on and on about being called a simpleton or idiot when no one has called you that.

Second, what groupies? Seriously what are you talking about? Also, if you notice I did criticize the show and not the viewers. So again, what the hell are you accusing me of here? Do you even know?

Third, please point out where in my post I tried to control this thread. I'll wait...

Finally, this is DCUM. People are going to be bitchy, they are going to call others out, they are going to say something is shit when they think it is shit. If you read here you should know this. If you can't handle it, over a tv show no less, than maybe you should take the kindly advice I gave you in my first post.

A. No "kindly" advice needed, thanks.
B. "Drooling fangirls" and "People who love this show are the same kind of people who like Cathy comics." -Nah, not insulting at all. Should I quote some other gems?
C. I rest my case.

Might I suggest you do the same. Glad to know you enjoy "Glee" though, one of the most trite, embarrassing shows I've ever seen in my life.
