Odd Mom Out - My new obsession!

Its like DCUM on TV! I swear the people that wrote this show took their lead from DCUM!

Its a new Bravo show which premiered last night. Hilarious!

It's from one of the Sex and the City writers.

I was looking forward to this but was disappointed. The lead is a horrible stilted actress and most of the jokes fell flat.

Funny, I knew within the first 30 seconds that it was my new favorite show! I think its hilarious.

Grossly stereotypical. I've lived UES and DC. I agree, the lead is a terrible actress, she can't carry this.

I agree about her acting - it's somehow flat. She was not the right person to cast for this role.

Having everyone be a villain except for her and her doctor friend will get old fast, I won't be watching again.

Is it set in DC?

I read that the lead actress is the author of the book on which the series is based. She's also Drew Barrymore's sister-in-law. I haven't watched the show but I know that Bravo has paid some mommy bloggers to write posts about it and am wondering if OPs post is somehow related to that.

That would make sense because I appreciate a good comedy and this was horrible. I might have exhaled sharply out my nose twice at this. I know humor is subjective but this was pretty bad.

I'm another one who had high hopes for this show. Somehow it just missed the mark - and I am a Bravo devotee.

If it's DCUM on television that's pretty much the biggest insult you could say.

I agree too. I do like it, but the cast had neither the charisma nor chemistry of sex and the city.

Not surprised it's from the sex and the city crowd as I started thinking that the audience would likely be former devotees of SATC and Bridget Jones who finally got hitched and procreated.

15 years ago my life was v much SATC and now it's very much odd mom out. Seems to be a cohort out there. I suppose in 20 some years, there'll be some geriatric version brought to us by a former SATC writer.

I like this show. But I do t think it's necessary to vilify people who like to spin. I'm not blond or anorexic, but I'm fit and like to spin. Am I the bad guy? No. I can also run a kick ass 5k and I'm a very laid back mom, no nanny, and I hate most posters on DCUM.
