Who is going to be next presidential candidate for democrats?

It seems likely midterms will be terrible for Republicans. They'll lose the House and probably the Senate. I think they will move quickly to the post-Trump era. They have to. And nothing good ever happens with those who choose to associate with Trump. Vance and Little Marco will go down with the ship.

Democrats should be concerned about other candidates. I think Brian Kemp and Ron DeSantis are going to run. I think MJT is going to run. Perhaps Glenn Youngkin and Tim Scott. Maybe Tucker Carlson.

None of these people are damaged by the Trump brand. 2028 is not going to be the election cakewalk that most Democrats think it's going to be. The Democratic brand remains in the gutter. It'll be a real race. Which is why getting a good candidate who can win the battleground states is so important.

Every time I think of Bashear, I think of Governor Jimmy Carter. Like Bashear, he was a governor of a southern state and not on the radar. He was considered a breath of fresh air after Nixon, and voters in the South and Midwest cast their ballots for the southern peanut farmer who was then governor of Georgia.

Andy Beshear has no star power and couldn’t win a debate vs Vance. Vance had a movie made by Ron Howard before he went into politics, that’s how inspiring his narrative is, objectively. You need someone with comparable star power and debating skills. The only person the Dems have will charisma and debating skills is Newsom.

I like Newsom’s fight, but he far from the only one capable. He’s far too Republican, anyway.
