Every time I think of Bashear, I think of Governor Jimmy Carter. Like Bashear, he was a governor of a southern state and not on the radar. He was considered a breath of fresh air after Nixon, and voters in the South and Midwest cast their ballots for the southern peanut farmer who was then governor of Georgia. [/quote]
