Anyone whose primary issue going into a presidential election is transgender people (who is not transgender) has some serious problems.

Trump is a major deviant. There are no justifications for voting for that man. I suspect you are also a deviant if you spend lots of time thinking about transgender people when you are not one and put that at the top of your issues of concern list. You think THAT is the most pressing thing facing our country? You think the POTUS is going to spend lots of time on THAT? Are you seriously conflating comments on DCUM that don’t follow your religious gender belief structure with physical assault and violence, which is statistically rarely perpetrated by women as compared to men? I’ll also note that transwomen retain male patterns of violence, so in states that now lie about crime stats, “women” have seen a shocking rise in the number of attacks they supposedly perpetrate.

I’m not the PP and I’m not going to vote for Trump. But this kind of dismissal just drives more women to vote Republican. Why? Because you are ignoring the foundational problem, which is that a segment of the Democrats have elected to harshly enforce a new religious belief system that requires women — who have been persecuted simply for having female bodies for millennia — to reduce themselves to a collection of female body parts associated with a transmutable gender soul, meant to be colonized by men.

You cannot demand religious belief like this and not expect deep resentment, particularly from a group that historically had experienced shocking levels of violence for having that same body that Democrats now consider public property available to all.

This is a religious belief system that the Democrats are enforcing. It’s not about individual trans people. And your deliberate blindness is just going to drive more people away.

I haven’t read all of the responses and do not belong to any political party but tend to vote more Republican. I’m always willing to have a respectful conversation with others even if we disagree.

We are small business owners. Often the Republican candidate has policies that benefit our business or won’t negatively harm our business. We need to provide for our kids financially and that’s the main motivation for my vote. I do not vote along any party line and these are the things I’m looking at for my vote.

It depends. If we are allowed to acknowledge that trans people have a biological sex that is different from the sex they would prefer, that isn't in conflict. If we are required to say, in polite society, that trans women are women, with no distinction at all from biological women, that is an issue for many people. And of course, if it is taken a step further and claimed that suggesting that sex is an immutable characteristic is criminal hate speech, that is a serious step toward the suppression of free speech, science, and religion in favor of state dogma.
