Washington Post Rankings - 5/20 Ranking - (previous rank) 1. Good Counsel (1) 2. Stone Ridge (6) 3. Severna Park (3) 4. Potomac School (5) 5. Spalding (4) 6. Yorktown (7) 7. SSSAS (2) 8. Broadneck (9) 9. Glenelg (NR) 10. Marriotts Ridge (NR) |
SR really shot up. Congrats. SSSAS fell off a cliff, to the point of being ranked behind a NoVa public school. |
What no Visi? lol |
Illustrates my previous point that WaPo is clueless on DMV lacrosse including the top teams and players. SSSAS would smash Yorktown by 10+ |
Just like your prediction that SSSAS would win states? Don't think that turned out very well. Wouldn't bet much on this prediction right now, either. |
WaPo just tries to sell papers/clicks. They are no longer an objective source of information. |
SSSAS was a train wreck at the end of season. Potomac boat raced them in the VISAA playoffs. SR beat them soundly. I would take Yorktown vs Saints today. |
People buy the post? They haven’t had a clue about HS lacrosse in years. |
The fact that Spaulding is so low is a joke. They would beat pretty much every team on that list. |
Saints would have no trouble with Yorktown. I would say full top 4 in ISL including Visi, and even WCAC #3 PVI would beat them.
And Spalding would beat every team above them with the possible exception of GC. |
Curious how strong is Severna Park or Broadneck?
I know historically AACO publics have produced some strong teams over the years. |
Severna Park is a good team but got beat yesterday by one point in the state championship game against Marriotts Ridge. Broadneck plays tonight against Urbana. |
WCAC awards are officially a joke and are pointless… |
Agreed! Surprised girls who should have made first team were not. Some girls selected for honors weren’t even big contributors on their team. How do they get selected? Coaches nominate? Political? Cause it can’t be stat based. |
