Come on. lmao

Not sure I agree that SJC would beat SSSAS now, but agree that underclassmen develop better when they get to play and overall team balance over multiple years can improve.

See eg Maryvale and SPSG in the IAAM. Both started Freshmen over established upperclass commits. Will be a benefit over the next several years.

playing time helps but the sjc freshman were a no show in WCAC championship game.

One of them had 3 goals, but nice post jack wagon.

How many yellow cards did GC have in the championship. A lot. Doesn't say much for their coach. SMH.

Were you the daddy in the stands screaming the entire time? Your precious princess gets touched legally and you cry.

I think SJC had one, GC had two.

My kid is in the ISL but complaining about how rough one team is compared to “my kid’s team of angels” is pervasive throughout the DMV. All of the girls in the ISL and WCAC use their sticks like weapons in the 8 and on the ride. No team is way worse than any other. Accept it or demand they wear helmets but if your kid can’t handle it she’s not tough enough to play in these leagues or in Baltimore.

GLax is a contact sport. Anyone who doesn’t see that isn’t tracking that isn’t paying attention.

Rules reform at the D1 level have reduced fouls on the ride, but made the clears pretty boring.

Challenge at high school level, in ISL and WCAC for sure, is that the refereeing is very inconsistent. Some games are allowed to be very physical; others you see yellow cards issued for minor checks or even swings and misses. IAAM is better and more consistent in my experience.

GC played the majority of the 4th quarter a girl down due to accumulating in excess of 4 yellows..

SJC got away with a terrible pass that hit a GC player in the face, giving her a black eye. Ref somehow missed that. SJC also could have gotten a red with that foul at the end. Not playing ball at all.

Both teams fouling but only GC was getting the cards.

They also missed a check to the neck of a GC player.

Right. The game was equally physical on both sides. That's a great take...

It's also been 10 days. You may want to let it go.

I agree. Time to move forward. Next season's GC SJC matchup(s) will be very much anticipated. Should be very competitive.

Saw that a few schools have put up All-ISL honors. Looks like primarily middies. How does it work? All one group (no first team; second team etc)? What is the total number?

What about WCAC? Gonzaga boys posted, but nothing on girls side. Any info?

Only WCAC school that has posted looks like McNamara

I remember looking for WCAC girls last year. They never did post it. Whomever runs the WCAC site seems to update the championship winners but nothing else?

Are the ALL State awards listed anywhere?

Has WP published rankings lately? Curious to seem if they have changed much since tournaments have started.

They’ll post the “All-Met” team but that’s a random bunch of kids from random public and private schools. Some schools are in Maryland, some DC, some VA. The selections never seem to make a ton of sense.
