If you can pay, you are admitted.

I don’t think most ever thought SR was a particularly tough admit.

SR is where you go if you dont get into Visi!

Actually not true. Many parents don’t want to hassle with the commute down to Visi.

Correct and the downward trending Visi sports program. Used to be’s don’t count anymore.

I don’t know how she would rank against her peers as a coach. I think that would be a function of getting a team of girls who don’t play together in club to play well together in between club seasons. HS coaches largely get handed a team of girls they don’t get to completely choose.

I’ve never thought the good counsel coach was a genius but he manages to do well with his teams.

I am a parent too.

This year, she missed the Episcopal game. The day before her daughter fell and got stitches, so that meant miss a game 24 hours later. She also showed up 10 minutes before the Potomac game. The game Potomac smacked us around.

Last year, she went on a trip to Italy during the season with her family. Don’t worry, she’s had the captains in charge of running practice that week.

She also won the ISL both years.

Those are facts, not opinions.

So she hasn't had a problem getting to games on time. Obviously, can't make a habit of being just 10 min early but she doesn't. Whew. Thought there were problems here.

And Visi is $15k less than SR and still not worth the hassle of driving to and from Georgetown.

What are the recruiting rules in the ISL?

Thought Coach not supposed to contact players. But can Coach ask current players contact prospects?

SR basketball is not good at all. Earlier poster who says SR top ISL athletic school. Hard to say when in the lower tier for basketball. Visi has better basketball, but both far below other ISL teams.

You don't think the head coach showing up 10min before a game, a big game at that, is a problem?

So missing work due to family issues is inexcusable?

How about going on vacation? None of you vacation at all? Or do you quit your jobs before you travel so that you don’t let your bosses down?

Why was she later than usual?

No dog in this fight, but a HS coach 100% can't go on vacation during the spring lacrosse season.

These people get paid next to nothing to do this, and we parents act like we own them. The SR coach is dominating the ISL. She should be able to do whatever she wants as far as I’m concerned.

I do not know her but my understanding is she runs a club. Maybe it’s more important that she not miss time during the club season. Just guessing.

I'm 1000% sure KM didn't pull Salty Mom aside and let her know all the details of her daughter's condition and what she felt she had to do.
They won that game 16-2, btw.

There's also only one opportunity in 2024 she could've split for Italy in 2024 without missing games. Late March to early April, which coincidentally is when SR was on spring break. They played a game a day after spring break started, then 10 days later school started back up again and then SR played 2 days later.

Many areas and schools don't allow for competition or coach-led practices for large chunks of spring break, don't know about SR. But IMO these breaks mid-season are good, and of course Salty Mom is tossing a one-sided story without background to try to make KM look worse.

Salty Mom is just salty and now regrets decisions she's made over the last # of years, and that things are not working out like she thought they would.

You absolutely can go on vacation during spring break. Why don't you write the AD? Please, please promise to copy the reply you get here.

If there are no practices or games during spring break, then sure a coach can do whatever they want. If the players need to be there during the season for practices or games, it is absolutely unacceptable for a coach to go on vacation, and nearly everyone would agree with this. I don’t care how much success a high school coach has had prior. As I have not dog in this fight and don’t know what is true or not, I’d guess the SR coach would not do this because the ideas is so ridiculous. You people are crazy kool aid types.
