Congratulations on your life choice for your kid. You must be very proud. |
This thread is titled "More defections from DA to ECNL". If you're not interested in the topic, don't click on the link. It's that easy, loser. |
I'm just telling you that you should be proud of your life decision. Isn't that what this thread is about? Validation? I'm giving you validation. You are the smartest guy in the room. Congrats! |
It’s a youth soccer parent forum on a thread discussing clubs leaving the DA to go to ECNL. PP is totally in bounds on his post. Go be sad in the 08 girls tread or WSVA ones. |
Offer a congrats and this is the thanks I get? ECNL is the undisputed champion and all of your kids will benefit from your vision. Sincerely, congrats. |
Did your iddy biddy feelings get hurt because some anonymous people on a message board are discussing defections from DA to ECNL on a thread titled "More defections from DA to ECNL"? My suggestion is don't click the link since the topic makes you melt, little snowflake. What a dumbass. |

I'm curious what outcome all of the folks posting here are looking for? It seems that everyone is gleefully trying to say "look, here is evidence that ECNL is better and will win the battle of the leagues.... Here's club ABC that is great and its going to leave for XYZ reasons...."
If DA were to fold, what are you imagining happens next? That the DA clubs you consider worthy (so in our area, everyone but Spirit VA who everyone loves to hate) join ECNL? Probably not logistically practical nationwide, even if you only accepted 75% of the current DA clubs. So what would happen? How do you see it shaking out? I agree that in the DC area there are too many choices, but that's not the case everywhere. Would ECNL have to cut current ECNL clubs to make room for DA clubs that are "better." |

GDA is suffering death by a thousand cuts. Losing one good program after another is just slowly tipping of the scale. One or two or three is not a big deal. But the hits just keep coming.
The loss of another top national club like So Cal Blues might be the straw that breaks the camels back. At some point, parents will see the writing on the wall and the top talent across the US will move to the platform that is seen as the best. Perception is reality. |
I don't necessarily see any of the DA clubs getting ECNL, but I would see a lot of displaced talent coming to take some spots on current ECNL teams. For a parent of a sub on a ECNL team the immediate collapse of GDA would soon be looking at NPL and CCL. |
Eagles SC is confirmed. They've rejoined ECNL. Wonder if the SoCal Blue rumor is true. I guess we'll find out soon. http://www.eliteclubsnationalleague.com/2019/03/26/eagles-soccer-club-is-all-in-for-the-2019-20-season/ |
I agree that top DA talent will move to the ECNLclubs, which will displace some of their talent. But I don’t think GDA will collapse immediately. Some of the displaced talent will move to those GDA teams and it will become a 2nd tier league. My DD plays on a GDA team. Not sure if she’d be considered a truly elite player and be able to secure a spot on another team. For now, she wants to stay and that’s fine with me. I’m hoping for at least more year of a decent team and competition. Then we may have a better idea of her options. |
This might be the most reasonable post regarding this topic ever. |

Eagles are not a powerhouse club in DA, with their 3 teams average record of about 5-11 for the fall. Is their departure really a bigger hit to the DA than what would be replaced by some of the clubs that are being added next fall?
SoCal Blues obviously would be a bigger hit. Some here keep talking about rumors - does anyone have any source at all for that? If not, well... Something else I noticed about these two clubs - they do not have Boys' DA teams. Is that the same for some other recent defections? Are there any clubs that have Boys' DA that are leaving the Girls' DA? If not, I think whatever death by a thousand cuts some seem to be hoping for here might not happen. There are plenty of big clubs that have Boys' DA teams, and if that makes them stick around on the Girls' side, seems like you'd still have a pretty strong league. |
| I think the motivation for this thread is not to rejoice in the collapse of gda. It has more to do with shutting up all the GDA parents previously forecasting the virtues of the league and how ecnl would wither. |

Tophat may be next.
Let's not forget. The leadership at ECNL started the girls national league. It was their product. US Soccer merely tried to steal it. In the process, they created a complete cluster f@@k. |
