More defections from DA to ECNL

LAFC switched to ECNL this past year. So 1 of the 3 clubs that won the national championship left DA for its rival. How is that a good thing for DA?

Two si that the only thing you got out of that post?

I said the ECNL teams are among the best, but you want to deny the DA has any talent as well. That's where you are missing the big picture.

No, that's idiotic. I can agree it will be among the top teams.

But the top 5 clubs in the country are all ECNL. The best DA clubs are ECNL now. By best we are talking about the ones with the best records in DA last year.

Did you forget about SoCal Blues and other giants? The East is not the only source of soccer talent. In fact, if you look at the YNTs, it's not even the best source.

Nope. Look at the DA playoff standing last year. So Cal Blues was #11 at U-15 and not in it for U-16/17 or U18/19.

Every one of these ECNL clubs below is was better:

FC Stars
PDA
Eclipse
Concorde Fire
Crossfire
Michigan Hawks

SoCal is a giant and has a long history. Anyone who denies that isn't paying attention. You want to know the winners? It was none of the club's you listed. In fact, they weren't second place either:

Girls' U-15: FC Dallas 2, Legends FC 0
Girls' U-16/17: Real Colorado 3, Nationals 0
Girls' U-18/19: LAFC Slammers 1, Solar Soccer Club 0

Thanks. I forgot to include LAFC Slammers in the list. They are probably the best club that moved to ECNL.

This is the same ENCL propaganda as last year. The two leagues are here to stay. Should they consolidate? Of course, everyone agrees on that, but there are a sizeable portion of youth soccer players who prefer the DA model.

Right, let's forget about Real Colorado, Solar FC, Legends, none of those clubs matter.

Great job ECNL guy, nice tunnel vision.

According to FCV parents the best club in the country is PDA.

To get back to the OP’s original question, why are these top DA clubs leaving DA for ECNL? I agree that there is still a lot of talent still in DA, but the defections in the last 15 months have basically been one way between the leagues. How concerning is this for DA?

Except the top DA clubs keep leaving. The replacements are not even ECNL clubs. At some point you will wake up and realize you are not on a good team or league despite a winning record against weak DA teams when you play an ECNL club and get crushed 0-7. Oh shoot that was last weekend.

And yet they didn't win any of the DA championships last year. I personally count them as a giant, no matter what league you put them in. But they aren't the only powerhouse. Some of this will midly wax and wane from age group to age group.

Top DA and top ECNL teams are the best of the best. And bottom clubs from both leagues are comparably weak and have lesser skill.

I have no horse in this battle but I will attack you personally for attacking a team of 7th and 8th graders. You are a full moron. FCV is a competitive club that left ECNL for DA. Say what you want about its culture but I think FCV is the only DC area club that has the potential to place a former player on the WNT. Even the FCV 05 time is still one of the top teams in the nation and any local coach of an 05 team will tell you as much. Back off. If you want to attack the parents then attack the parents.

SoCal Blues' top teams for U17 and U18/U19 play in ECNL. Look at their ECNL rosters. 7 of the players on those ECNL teams are committed to UCLA alone. A handful are GNT players.

SoCal is in both leagues. Their B team is in ECNL.

Are you on the right thread, or did I miss a post? Who attacked FCV? I posted they are the top club in VA.

Never mind. I saw the loser who keeps beating the drum about 0-7. I guess some posters are constantly refreshing their screen in the utter excitement to post their trash.

Don’t feel bad for the FCV parents. That’s just Karma.
