| FCV parents fighting eachother at an 05 match.... |
|
Writing is on the wall for GDA. Apparently another wave of clubs is leaving in addition to Crossfire.
Any thoughts on what happens with DCarea ECNL clubs? Do FCV players get sick of having to go to Georgia for a decent game? Does Loudon take over? It looks like the landscape will be very different in 2 to 3 years. I think FCV is in trouble. Who will want to miss HS and play in a second rate league instead of playing for Bryc, McLean, loudon, or vda? |
| The HS soccer point is about to go away, so that will no longer be an issue for kids deciding between ECNL and DA. |
|
With HS...the DA will be the ECNL and ECNL will be DA....which in turn will make more DA clubs leave for ECNL so they can have more control.
Good news...find a good ECNL team and get recruited the same as DA. |
| Why the attacks on FCV 05? You people are pathetic. |
| Would Spirit 05 beat FCV 05? |
This is happening. ECNL is requiring all of its clubs to field an A and B team. The A teams will be in ECNL and the B teams will be in ECNL 2. The A and B teams at all age levels will have the same home and away games against the same opponent on the same day. For example, if McLean is playing NC Fusion, then their respective A teams will play each other on the same day, and their respective B teams will play each other on the same day, in each age group. I personally think this is a bad idea, but it will take place in the 19-20 season. Also, ECNL will begin at U12 starting next year. As for your other points, you make a good one about the distance between a club like PDA vs. a lesser ECNL club. However, if the elite clubs all shift towards one league over another, then the other league will death spiral as talent flees that league. Also, as many posters like to say, "steel sharpens steel," and there is no doubt that the lesser ECNL teams benefit from playing against teams like LAFC, PDA, MI Hawks, Crossfire, etc. And that is to say nothing of the increased competition among the ECNL Champions League teams. I agree with some of the other posters that the fight for top-dog status between ECNL and DA may already be over. |
Because parents are fighting eachother on the sidelines at a u14 match... |
Good post minus the Loudoun take over.... Loudoun are a long way from being competitive in the ECNL |
| Would we agree that the ECNL National champion will be consensus top club team in the country? Hard to argue against that now. Even FCV parents are saying PDA is the best club in the country a few pages ago after the loss. Seems like ECNL is the winner. |
No, that's idiotic. I can agree it will be among the top teams. |
But the top 5 clubs in the country are all ECNL. The best DA clubs are ECNL now. By best we are talking about the ones with the best records in DA last year. |
Did you forget about SoCal Blues and other giants? The East is not the only source of soccer talent. In fact, if you look at the YNTs, it's not even the best source. |
Nope. Look at the DA playoff standing last year. So Cal Blues was #11 at U-15 and not in it for U-16/17 or U18/19. Every one of these ECNL clubs below is was better: FC Stars PDA Eclipse Concorde Fire Crossfire Michigan Hawks |
SoCal is a giant and has a long history. Anyone who denies that isn't paying attention. You want to know the winners? It was none of the club's you listed. In fact, they weren't second place either: Girls' U-15: FC Dallas 2, Legends FC 0 Girls' U-16/17: Real Colorado 3, Nationals 0 Girls' U-18/19: LAFC Slammers 1, Solar Soccer Club 0 |
