No, Maryland tried to teach that gender is a “guess” and tried to unconstitutionally contradict parental teachings on the definition of marriage in elementary classrooms. Gender expression discussions don’t belong in a classroom. Those are adult conversations. |
You mean the people who think their religious beliefs belong as government rules and laws to dictate everyone else's life? F them. |
Please explain in detail why gender expression is an "adult" conversation. I get that you are afraid of sex, as in the act, but why is gender *expression* "adult". Gender expression is separate from sexual preference. What exactly do you think gender expression is? |
As a teacher I’m not reading books anymore. Some parent may not agree with the book. The classroom library I had is gone. I’m not even sure if all the Elephant and Piggie books are OK. They talk about cross species animals being friends and loving each other. It could be bad. Curious George? Out too- the farmers go after George (an immigrant) who stole something. Nope, only those county approved books are allowed and your kids don’t get the classroom books anymore. |
PS- the county doesn’t really give us enough books to have as read alouds. They only give about 20-30 for the year and now that is all the kids have. |
It's self hatred. Many of them are closeted and believe the hateful things they were taught in the context of their religion. |
It’s the name we ascribe to the sex of different animals. A mare is a female horse, a drake is a male duck and a man is a male human. You’re welcome. |
NP. Why does "gender expression" need to be discussed at all? By anyone, adult or child, in any circumstance? |
Over 2 billion Muslims throughout the world would disagree with you. |
Gender expression is either: sex stereotypes or sex appropriation. Neither belongs in the classroom with young children. Hope that helps. |
Oh no, not that. And George is a freaking monkey not an immigrant. Jesus, I can’t believe the bottom of barrel we get for teachers. |
+1. Hate to say it, but yeah. |
The parents were not demanding that Islam be taught in the school. Maryland was watching that gender is a “guess” and that their religious views on marriage were wrong. You have completely flipped the fact pattern in this court case but we aren’t buying it. |
Speaking of bottom of the barrel, you should see the parents. Very easily offended by everything. |
The idea that someone’s gender identity conflicts with their biological sex or that someone can change their sex are quasi religious opinions not fact. This involves moral and religious questions that are for the parent to introduce and teach in the family. In addition children that are going through the hardships of puberty and hormones deserve to have that difficulty acknowledged without introducing the idea that maybe what they are experiencing is gender dysphoria, a rare condition highly unlikely to be the cause of their anxiety. |
