So people who never lived in America have opinions about the experiences of people who lived in America. I mean, maybe ask your black South African friends if they think Americans have overreacted. |
You’re suggesting people pretend to be trans when really they are scared to be female or gay?! |
Maybe the LGBTQ+ activists should lead by example and stop trying to control everyone. |
LOL proving my point! |
Since when did GDS become a public school? Next thing you know you’re going to tell me that Gonzaga teaches about Jesus. A private school serving the morals of its paying clientele. Oh the humanity. |
You really think you own my kids, don’t you? |
I think they just want to live and raise their kids in peace. For some reason the Bible thumpers just won’t let them. |
What world are you in? The Muslim families wanted an opt out of sexually explicit and controversial material for their young kids and it was the liberal state of Maryland that refused. This isn’t even about “Bible thumpers” (I sheet you check your anti Christian bigotry). The case was so egregious it made it to scotus which slapped the state down. |
No. But I’m saying it’s a lot easier on you as a trans person in America if you can get medical treatment to “pass”. America is highly resistant to difference and people can’t keep their mouths shut or their fists to themselves. |
The material was no more explicit than if it referred to a marriage between Molly and Steve or a boy named Joe who was born a boy. Honestly you people give yourselves away every single time. You consider difference obscene. |
The answer is to push society to accept wide ranges of gender expression not to convince kids they need to transform their bodies with surgery and hormones! |
Luckily for us we can see the school’s material online for ourselves and read the lesson plans and teacher instructions for post reading discussion. Your gaslighting is pointless when we can see it all. And lucky for us that scotus completely disagrees with your minority view. |
Well Maryland tried to do that, and the wackjobs objected, and a panel of hair shirt wearing extreme Catholics agreed. A child cannot be forced to learn to treat other people with respect in a public school if their religion says they should stone those people for displeasing their sky fairy. |
Excellent job modeling how to treat other people with respect. /s Oops |
This issue has nothing to do with being gay. Even most Republicans are totally fine with that. That is not an issue at all. It's the trans thing that has parents concerned - as evidenced by the gazillion comments here on a very peripheral issue for most people. There were a couple of years when every middle schooler in blue areas seemed to be questioning their gender. Human beings have existed for 300,000 years. There's nothing new under the sun. And all of a sudden gender fluidity became a norm. Puberty blockers on kids were deemed acceptable. And you were called a TERF or whatever if you questioned anything. Everyone understands that there is a small minority of people that have gender dysmorphia. But acceptance has turned into encouragement for very vulnerable 12, 13, 14, 15 year olds, particularly those on the spectrum who process things differently. Basically, the propagation of trans normalization seems abusive to a lot of people. Not to mention the unfairness of trans women in women's sports. And the dangers of trans women in prisons and shelters and so on. People conflating the lgbq community with the particular issues relating to the trans community are missing it. Gay men and women are just as concerned as straight folks. |
