So what’s your solution? |
Okay, that was a little better! Maybe there's hope for you yet. |
No that is your partisan narrative. The Philly police arrested the perps. That’s the truth. |
Answer the question. What’s your solution to the increasing crime? |
I'm a Democrat (and DC resident), but sadly, what they posted specific to DC is true and contributing to a significant year on year crime wave in DC when crimes are receding in other cities. |
Arrest. Release. Repeat. |
My solution is to hire more police officers and direct more funding to our court systems so that punishments for committing crimes are swift, certain, and salient. I can also say that I definitely do not support putting criminals into concentration camps and gassing them. |
Thank you. And what does Philly have in common? Let’s all say it together: progressive. Criminal. Justice. America is watching and getting really fking tired of it. You want Youngkin to win? This is how that dude gets drafted and wins. I know abortion is a hot button issue, but seriously how many more news stories of organized smash and grab can America watch on tv until they have enough and vote with common sense on crime. The only thing that works is strict, immediate punishment, not trying to endlessly study and pontificate on the root causes of crime. While you do that another crime is committed. Another CVS leaves an urban center. |
Sorry, but no. You ask stupid questions and you get stupid answers. If PP wants to start with extremist hyperbole then we'll let her see how ridiculous that actually is. And yes, some people are irredeemable. And yes, prison systems need to find a way to make overhead to keep themselves afloat. WE need more of them. This isn't new to anyone but for some reason you cannot talk reality with progressives. |
Your first paragraph was done well. However, you again you argue in bad faith and fixate on a random comment that wasn’t written in earnest. Anyway, we’ve gotten you to admit that prosecution works, so I guess you are capable of admitting defeat. |
You keep asking the same question PPs have answered you. I am willing to pay but think prisons need to create other sources of revenue. WE also need to trim the cost of keeping each prisoner. $130K is ridiculous and far more than what that criminal would be making/spending out of prison so why do they get a 6 figure salary in prison? Trim the excess and make larger mega prisons to cut the overhead per person. IN all, paying $130K per person is definitely worth the cost considering the damage done by each prisoner on the outside. I'd pay $130K to minimize murder and rapes in our communities. |
Yes to both PPs above. I'd venture to say that most PPs here are also tired Dems. Dem here. I'm done. Crime is up in DC and bleeding into NOVA (hello, Tysons), and I'm done. I am solidly behind reproductive rights but am wondering how much crime we have to put up with to support that. |
DP. Police arrest all the time. We will see how serious Philly is about dealing with this problem when we see HOW they prosecute. That is the key. An arrest makes no difference if the criminals get out on no- or low bail, reoffend, and are arrested again to get out again and do it all over. And, an arrest makes no difference if the prosecutors don't hold the criminals accountable. That is what pp is talking about when they say they get a "free pass." |
Crime has uniformly spiked in low income areas, regardless of whether they implemented police budget cuts or Criminal Justice reform. The only common thread is raging inflation with food and housing prices far outpacing any wage gains. And more transparency on how citizens in those areas are policed. That’s the inconvenient truth. People are released on bail because most cities don’t have the $$$ to find $130k per leggings and baby formula thief. |
The murderer was the police officer. He is roaming the streets free. These vandals are leggings thieves. They exceed the number of murderers by many magnitudes. I am so glad you are willing to provide lodgings and meals for them at $130k per head. You can make that a reality by asking GOP presidential candidates to increase your taxes significantly. You can’t force imprisoned people to work so what are you going to do starve or torture them? |
