But the attorney did say that. Here is the exact statement. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE AN OPEN LETTER TO THE MEDIA I write this open letter with a profound sense of outrage and frustration over the unjust portrayal of my client, Dayjia Blackwell. It sickens me to witness the media's complicity in what can only be described as an all-out assault on black and brown people, as their character and actions are mercilessly vilified. We cannot afford to disregard this insidious injustice. Dayjia Blackwell, a vibrant and charismatic 21-year-old African- American female, was catapulted into the limelight through her incredible talent for creating hilarious and captivating content on social media. With her infectious energy and boundless creativity, Dayjia has captured the hearts of thousands, leaving a trail of laughter and joy in her wake. ○ jessicamann_esq/Instagram |
More of the statement: Mann called the looters 'individuals driven by pain and anguish' and said the robbery 'is not about sneakers or alcohol.' 'It is about the systemic oppression that has plagued our communities for generations... and the corrosive effects of unchecked police brutality and a justice system that favors the powerful over the voiceless,' the lawyer added. |
This is hysterical. Dayjia posted her own live stream of her criminal activity including theft of henessy and her live stream encouraged others to join in the crime spree. Media had nothing to do with Dayjia participating in a crime spree. There were (a few) white faces arrested as a result of the crime spree so it was not only black folk stealing. |
Gaslighting. Why as a society do we allow crimes to not be called crimes? |
So… a defense attorney made a statement in support of their client? Shall we share some of the things Donald Trump’s revolving door of attorneys and lackeys have said in his defense? |
But what about... |
This is one of the few political topics that really has nothing to do with Trump. Stop! |
Shouldn't what this cop did in the video also be a crime? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IwMEAvYbzGk If what happened in the video isn't a crime, then we have become a lawless society. |
Because the First Amendment allows people to have opinions you disagree with? |
So… they’re going to look at their records, if any, and charge them accordingly. And if, as you seem to assume of all of them, they have lengthy records, they’re gonna throw the book at them. What’s the problem here? You want some frontier justice, you want them all hanging from a tree? Sorry. That’s not the way our justice system works on paper. Evaluating them and trying them accordingly is. |
