Does anyone here think the looting is justified? I was reading the press release from Meatball's attorney and she basically said the looting was justified as an act of political resistance against an unjust system. Is this view compelling to people?

It would be interesting to see what happened in the minutes before. The police officer sounds really scared. I'm sure the context of why the officer did it played into why the charges were dropped but I can't find any video that shows the preceeding events. In general, I'm at the point where I think we should give officers the benefit of the doubt because their jobs have become so dangerous and our cities are becoming lawless.

No. I’ve never heard anyone say that. It happens when people are disaffected, feel like they have nothing to lose, and are angry at establishments or the “system”, but it’s not an act of resistance- it’s a crime spree.
