How’s the defund police project going?

So we have less cops and prosecutors who now also refuse to prosecute crimes like shoplifting and trespassing in the name of social justice.

So even the people arrested tonight will be out by morning sinner they won’t get cash bail and probably get charged with a misdemeanor. So then they can do this all again next week.

Yeah, sounds like a good plan. And then when these stores close, you’ll have the. Same old people crying about how business abandoned the inner city.

Well, since Philly never defunded the police and actually increased their budget in 2022, your argument is moot.

Think it through; was everyone going about their normal business in 2020 or were people in their homes more than usual?

And good. I hope they’re able to pick up the lot of them and throw the book at them. It’s one thing when one person shoplifts a single canister of baby formula to feed their child - still wrong but it’s defensible on a human level - but organized crime is organized crime. Throw the book at them.

2020 was the summer of love. Don’t re-write history. They defunded because BLM movement was huge and liberals like yourself supported it.

The “throw the book at them’ then signing “a liberal” is a huge virtue signal on your part

Philly has been a s*t hole since Ben Franklin left. My friend went to college there and when I visited I couldn't believe what a dump it was. Couldn't pay me to go there then, won't be going now.

Cute little talking point there, but doesn't at all explain crime.

Philadelphia's 2018 police budget was $672.9M
Philadelphia's 2019 police budget was $720.4M
Philadelphia's 2020 police budget was $741.2M
...which puts a $19m cut into context as 2.5% of their budget and making a $19m cut in 2020 still higher than the police budget was in 2019 and 2018.

It's astounding that the police let crime run rampant in protest of a paltry 2.5% budget cut, which also hit other city departments due to COVID revenue shortfall.

It's almost as though the police union is running an extortion racket on the city.

The Trump administration was a time of constant looting, riots, criminal gang activities and insurrections. We all remember Trumps inability to govern the country and how the country became unsafe. Biden has made great strides in restoring lol in order but maga is actively working against this.
