Places to Sign Recall Petitions - Tholen/Omeish/Cohen

Anonymous
They are definitely closing in on Tholen. There’s no doubt at this point they’ll at least be able to file the petition in court this summer.

If a new election is required, even better.

At a minimum, it appears that, by July, there will be enough signatures to recall Elaine Tholen to require her to show cause why she should not be unseated.

What does that mean? “Show cause”?

Show that she was fulfilling her duties/responsibilities as a member which should be pretty easy to do.

Depends on the judge.
doubtful, just because you do not like her votes doesn’t mean it is cause for removal.

Exactly. These openfcps people love keeping anger and division alive. There is zero chance that a recall would be successful. These members did the work, attended meetings ... they just had a different opinion. They were not negligent or absent.

I laugh when I see them touting her Langely redistricting vote - the woman who ran against Tholen ran on the "Change the Board, Not the Boundaries" tag line. Tholen was the bad guy who was going to make the poor GF families go to the rough streets of Herndon for HS.

Where it will be summarily shut down by the judge. Yawn.

DP. Once again, that’s really not the point. Yawn, indeed.

Exactly. But these are spoiled people who are shocked -- shocked, I tell you -- that for the first time in their entitled lives, when they pitched a giant fit, they didn't get their way.

Either way it can’t be great for Elaine to know there are already over 2800 people in her district who have said under penalty of perjury they believe she is unfit for office.

Disagree. The rhetoric of at least half of the School Board members - Omeish, Frisch, Keys Gamarra, Meren, Sizemore Heizer, and Anderson - absolutely is far left. The fact that their actions rarely match their words doesn’t mean they can’t be measured by their words.

It’s comical that anyone would try claiming this SB is not far-left.

Yes, it is the point. All the idiots wasting their time on this think they're punishing the SB members and are that makes themselves oh so powerful. It's laughable and pathetic. Get all your cutesy little signatures, then sit back and watch as nothing happens. Buffoons.

What specifically is far left?

DP. Anyone who places renaming schools higher on the priority list than actually getting kids back *into* the schools. Or who uses the phrase “equity lens” as many times as possible when speaking. Or who thinks it’s actually a good idea to lower admission standards to TJ - in the name of “equity,” of course. And of course, anyone who sees nothing wrong with teaching CRT in public schools.

One’s Jewish, One’s Muslim and One’s to cover so they can claim they’re not targeting the other two for not being good WASPs.

Grow up.

Y’all first. Buncha whiny toddlers soiling their diapers because they didn’t get their way. Buck up and vote against them next time- or heck run yourselves! But that would require more than passive action and y’all know YOU couldn’t take the heat once you fail to live up to your neighbors’ lofty expectations.

Stopped reading at “y’all.”

Lol same. “Y’all” in a comment like this is a dead giveaway that the person writing is an early 20 something who spends way too much time being mad on Twitter and I have no interest at all in whatever nonsensical verbal diarrhea comes next.

I think you’re severely overestimating the interest an early 20-something has in this forum.

(The poster in question is a 40- something from the south- sorry if that offends your classist wine-mom sensibilities)

DP. I’m from the south too. However, I know better than to actually write “y’all” and expect to be taken seriously.

If they were more interested in dealing with education instead of the almost exclusive focus on social engineering and victimism, it wouldn't be an issue.

You are proving my point. You know nothing about my political views but the moment I bring something that is contrary to your view—you call me a far left extremist.

Say the people whining about how they have been victimized because they didn’t get their way…

Uh oh, someone’s triggered! Having a petition against you, signed by thousands of your constituents, is indeed punishment. And it will certainly prevent them from ever winning another SB election, should they be foolish enough to run again. It is “laughable and pathetic” that you seem unable to grasp this.
