The debate

The media? Please. Trump lied and lied and lied and lied and don't recall too much media coverage it.

He will do the same tonight and Harris will be the one to put him down over it. The media does nothing.

Agree that it won't swing the electorate much but it's a good way for people to see the extreme contrast of these two candidates. How they conduct themselves and what type of person we want to represent the USA on the worlds stage and at home.

Good Thing trump is wearing a diaper because he is wetting his pants in fear. The more he calls someone a name or thinks he is still debating old rivals, the more terrified he is. I hope he has a ketchup tantrum. He cannot control his emotions. He is going to be clenching those tiny hands and screaming about his good friend Hannibal and rather than being afraid
of guns in school, parents should be terrified and furious of kidnapping students and transgendering them during school hours!

My sister and I just convinced her mother-in-law that no one will be able to see who she votes for. She's a registered Republican and still identifies with the party but in no way has wanted to vote for Trump. Her husband convinced her that he would be able to check the records after the election so she voted for Trump last time... She randomly asked us over tea if that was true that it could be checked. We were both like um hell no... She got on the phone to a lot of her friends.......

Tonight's debate will be as bad for Trump as the last one was for Biden. Trump's physical and cognitive decline has increased over the last several months. He does not have a public outing without some moment where his brain heads off into the orange bronzer sunset and ends up rambling or incoherent. When he's lucky, he only goes for a phrase or two and then finally reconnects. When he's not, it goes on for a long tangential rant about something that doesn't make sense (sharks and batteries, Hannibel Lechter).

And even through she's not a spring chicken, Harris will look and speak like a normal person.

Trump is going to look old and feebleminded. And any last swing voters will realize, like they did with Biden, that Trump is no longer fit for office.

He has also deteriorated physically.

His gait is funny. Apparently a sign of Fronto-Temporal dementia. I don’t know but people are saying.

Trump can't remember basic details.

Wisconsin rally on September 7, Trump calls Elon Musk "Leon".

In the viral clip, the former president claimed, “Leon's gonna send up a rocket,” referring to the Tesla founder, 53.

Trump's response to a softball question about what specific piece of legislation he would support and sign to help famlies struggling with childcare costs
https://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/columnist/2024/09/09/trump-old-incoherent-biden-age-mental-fitness/75138026007/
“It’s a very important issue. But I think when you talk about the kind of numbers that I’m talking about, that – because, look, child care is child care. It’s – couldn’t – you know, it’s something – you have to have it. In this country, you have to have it. But when you talk about those numbers compared to the kind of numbers that I’m talking about by taxing foreign nations at levels that they’re not used to, but they’ll get used to it very quickly – and it’s not going to stop them from doing business with us but they’ll have a very substantial tax when they send product into our country. Those numbers are so much bigger than any numbers that we’re talking about, including child care. That – it’s going to take care – we’re going to have – I – I look forward to having no deficits within a fairly short period of time, coupled with the reductions that I told you about on waste and fraud and all of the other things that are going on in our country.”

Trump talking about topics form transgender care to abortion in an interview with MSNBC's Chris Hayes:
https://www.thewrap.com/chris-hayes-trump-mental-decline-segment-video/
MSNBC then aired a clip of Trump from the event where his speech moves incoherently between transgender topics to abortion, arguing that people “actually execute the baby after birth.”

“It kills our birds. If you want to see a bird cemetery, go under a windmill sometime,” the clip continued. “They do kill — it kills all the birds.”

Trump given a softball question about his plan for bringing down inflation:
https://newrepublic.com/post/185496/trump-rant-bacon-wind-power
An attendee asked Trump his plan “to make life more affordable and bring down inflation,” in what should have been a softball question for the Republican candidate.

“Some people don’t eat bacon anymore,” Trump replied. “We are going to get the energy prices down,” he continued, jumping from topic to topic.

“This was caused by their horrible energy. Wind. They want wind all over the place. But when it doesn’t blow, we have a little problem.”

Trump's brain is going to wander off somewhere west of the Mississippi and he's going to be incoherent and rambling tonight. He will answer the questions with him with complete tangents, some of which may actually have something to vaguely to do with the Presidency, but most will not. He's going to end up just looking pitiful. We cannot have someone who really should be considered for a nursing home being considered for the White House. Unless you expect to staff the White House with eldercare specialists.

Criminals always think they can outsmart the prosecutor. It never goes well. Looking forward to it.

It doesn’t matter. Trump will be drugged highly again, he’ll show up, he’ll be mediocre and because the bar is in hell for him and somewhere up in the troposphere for Harris, the debate will be declared a draw and the sanewashing of Trump will continue.

And we can all guarantee that right wingers will be posting here whatever weird lies are making the right wing rounds, and then we’ll all spin our wheels trying to fact check the obvious lies that some spout with glee knowing they’re lies, and the others who believe it to be true will be unbudged. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Oh, that’s right. I forgot that he seemed to be on uppers or coke last time. Sigh.

I'm still incredulous that we're even having a debate. Trump tried to overthrow an election. We all saw it. The fact that he's not in jail for this is mind boggling.

Agree. He shouldn’t be allowed to run for dog catcher and I wouldn’t hire him to mow my lawn. But it’s easy to forget that there are a lot of hateful fascists in our midst and lots of online trolls feeding them BS that they’re too stupid to recognize as BS. Bring back civics to high schools.

But the media will bothsides this and minimize any negatives for Trump. You certainly won’t see the wall-to-wall attacks Biden received for his age the next day.

Because the media wants to keep it a horse race.

The media is irresponsible.

Why don’t you go with her to vote? Keep the old stooge husband away from her. This is sadly true for many women in abusive marriages.
