Who will win Tuesday Sept 10?
Are you watching? Plan to mute anytime that orange head speaks because we know he has nothing worthy to say. |
Nobody will win. There is no objective point system. There are no independent judges. There are no rewards for making a more persuasive case. There are no penalties for being wrong.
The talking heads who sell commercials and advertisements will produce content talking about who exceeded expectations. That will go on for awhile, and then we will forget. After the election, some political commentators will retcon the debate into something that fits the results. |
I see no point myself. I'm voting for Harris no matter what. |
Same! |
No. I find the system so frustrating. They say they will do something, then don't do it. It all feels pointless. The only reasons I am voting Harris: 1. Trump 2. Reproductive rights. I don't expect anything good from her, and don't even know that she will do much for 2. GOP are morons to have Trump run again. |
+2 I wish there were no debates coming up. I’m tired of both of these two who are awful at public speaking. |
I'm optimistic about Harris because I was so pleasantly surprised by Biden. Back in 2020, I was where you were. Didn't expect much of Biden, but he's not Trump, so - in a two party system - that pretty much decides the vote. But then Biden accomplished way more than I ever dreamed: ARPA, Inflation Reduction, CHIPS & Science, Bipartisan Infrastructure, a reinvigorated labor movement & NLRB, much more active consumer protection and anti-trust enforcement, unified international resistance to Russian aggression, and he got us out of Afghanistan* after quite a lot else. (*I understand people are critical of how the withdrawal played out, but even with those criticisms - we're out of a war that Bush, Obama, and Trump couldn't and wouldn't get us out of for 20 years.) He did this with slim majorities. He has not gotten nearly the credit he deserves, in part because a lot of these are long term plays that will bear fruit over the years and decades to come. Anyway, I think there is every reason to believe Harris will continue in his footsteps only with more youth and vigor. |
Here’s how it will go
Kamala will perform however she does and the conservative blabosphere will run a million headlines and tweets about how terrible she was before she even takes the stage - as happened here before her interview. Then the “liberal” media will intensely focus on evenhanded criticism, BoThESIdesing the candidates, and deeply probing Harris’ nuanced and thoughtful answers while sanewashing the nonsequitor and barely coherent bile Trump belches out. Then I’ll listen to focus groups that just aren’t sure who won and consider |
This tracks. Then you'll come on here and talk about how awful he was and how fantastic Kamala was, when in reality she will say nothing of substance but you will still think she is the second coming. |
Unless they fact check in real time there is no point to this debate |
Dp- Can she form a coherent sentence? Because we’ve seen that he can’t. The bar is low, babe |
I'll watch, just because I feel like it will be significant historically (just like the last debate was). |
They will mute his farts won't they?
How did we get to this point, Americans? |
Excuse me, excuse me.
I’m going to debate, And debate very strongly, About some of the top things. We’ll be taking a look at some of the top things, And looking at them very strongly. Because we’re living horribly, We’re living horribly in this country. Nobody’s evah seen anything like it. |
Many were surprised. He proved many wrong. |
