Sure, a post racial world. I am guessing you are white?

Yup, I'm the Dad with the white kids that lives in Montgomery Village and sends my kids to GHS.

You can call me racist because I laughed a little under my breath when I heard the "dog for dinner" joke, but you'd be wrong.

But sure keeping on with the jokes...

In the example of the "dog" as food to the Asian kid, the comment was made by an AA friend. Do you think the non white people are going to school each other on racism now? Really?

The Blair parent says that everyone makes fun of everyone, so that means the white kid also makes black and Asian jokes. So why does it matter that the specific example was black kid making dog-eating joke? What kind of joke does the white kid make about his black friend at Blair?

Keep ignoring the fact that the kids making these comments are not all white. It's not white kids against everyone else like back in your day, especially as there are fewer and fewer white school aged kids. You're completely out of touch and it shows with this antiquated mind set.

Anyone here who isn’t white think we live in a post racial world?

I'd like to see the Asian kids educate the Black kids about racism.

Oh the top of my head, we were driving the boys somewhere and cop came up with the lights flashing and my kid said "Nate, what did you do? why they after you?"

and of course he'll called my son a racist POS and everyone laughed.

I will acknowledge that this all sounds horrible, typing it out on DCUM. But in the moment, when you see these kids that truly care about each other, you really do realize that this is how they are showing affection, making fun of the stereotypes, and taking the power back as a group.

And remember, 14/15/16 year olds are supposed to push boundaries. And it really feels like they are doing that in a safe way with each other

How is that responsive? If these kids are really so post-racial, then it shouldn't matter who is making the jokes. Both white kids and black kids get to make dog-eating and illegal immigrant jokes, and both white kids and Asian kids get to make black jokes (not sure what jokes they make because PP hasn't posted any specifics). Right? Or is that not how it works? I really want to hear what black jokes the white kids are making at Montgomery Village and Blair. Otherwise I call BS on this post-racial fantasy.

Of course it is not always white people who make racist remarks but the fact is that most race hate crimes are against non white people, and according to the polls the vast majority of people who believe we live in a post racial society are white. I wonder why that is?

It's post racial if the kids themselves aren't bothered by this. It doesn't matter if you approve of their back and forth jokes, that is the point.

Do you think your kid would make that same joke if the parent of his black friend were driving? I wonder if the POC parents of your kids' friends think their kids live in a post-racial world where everyone is fine with race jokes. Curious if you've ever talked to them about it.

Funny how it's only white people saying these racist jokes are nbd, and when a POC makes a statement to say otherwise they get attacked.

It's 100% on brand.

Unless that POC is a teen, then their opinion on what teens joke about, and how they interpret those jokes, is irrelevant.
