Why does the GOP deserve my vote?

The GOP simply doesn't deserve the vote from anyone who actually believes in the United States, who supports our military, or supports the US as a shining city on the hill.

OP.

Yes, it seems evident to me that one party is functional, but it shouldn’t be that way. GOP voters should have helped their party moderate decades ago. I asked for people to sell why I should give a vote to anyone in the GOP but no one has been able to give even a simple explanation.

The GOP is in disarray and is not functional. The Democratic Party isn't quite at the disarray level and is barely functional. Leadership in both parties is abysmal. Both need to undergo complete reform or be dissolved. It is obvious that the GOP leadership is worse on every level but both parties allowing someone as unfit as Trump and as old as Biden to become president is completely unacceptable and there must be accountability.

It really is amazing, the responses - furious you'd even ask for a reason to consider one of their candidates.

Give it arrest. Biden himself could tell you his party could improve itself in such and such manner, and you’d label him MAGA while demanding why you should vote for the GOP. There is no reason for you to vote GOP. You are exhausting.

or... try broadening your tent and giving people who aren't already on your side a reason to vote for you?

it's "a rest" not "arrest," unless you're trump - then it's definitely "give it arrest"

OP: MAGA! TRUMPER! tell me why I should vote for your Trump and GOP. <stomps feet and shakes rattle> Why aren’t you telling me why I should vote GOP!!!! Why won’t you answer my question! Don’t tell me anything about abortion or immigration or whatever. Those don’t count. Those are not valid reasons! You are idiots!!!! Tell me why to vote for your party.

Posters: I’m voting Dem!

OP: OMG!!! Why won’t you tell me why I should vote for your GOP!?! Answer me!!!!

I am not sure why you claim the Dems are in disarray and barely functional. They have been running the White House and the Senate like normal. The House ran very smoothly under Nancy Pelosi. There was never a government shut down when the Dems ran the House. It is a big tent party, so sure, there are moderates like Manchin and progressives like AOC. They all believe in the American Experiment and the principals of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. I am hardpressed to see where the party was brought to its knees by a small, vocal faction.

I am the PP - obv obsessed - and I continue to find it baffling that this is your take on OP's question. Do you not think your party is doing good things? And not just good things for the people already voting R, but for others, too? Why are you seeing OP's question as an attack instead of an opportunity?

I don't really get this idea that you should get so weirdly angry and defensive, and lash out, when asked for reasons why your party is really good, and people should consider voting for them instead of Democrats.

This is your chance to make the case. Maybe OP isn't really going to vote for an R - I'm certainly not, haha effin never - but lots of elections come down to independent voters and persuadable voters. Pretend OP didn't raise your hackles. What is the case to them, for why Rs should be trusted to lead your city, your state, your country? And assume for this exercise that the voter doesn't hate drag queens, probably wants their kid to learn some history, isn't furious with Disney for taking a mealy-mouthed stance in favor of gay employees, etc. In other words, not the culture war stuff that's really just red meat to the people already in your camp - but the other stuff, that you truly believe shows why Rs are the party who deserve to lead?

Neener neener? Is that really how you're defending this?

No wonder Republicans can't explain why you should vote for one. They can't even explain why they support anything in general.

No where in the PP's comment was there a claim that Dems were in disarray. Learn to read/listen before speaking/typing and people will respect what you have to offer.
