| Let’s stop with the tall tales here. Democrats currently in power are the most radical extremists of my lifetime. |
How so? |
|
OP here. Seriously, none of the posters who have, hundreds of times on multiple different threads, compared the GOP and Democratic Party and found them to be the exact same have nothing to say here? You don’t have anything to say to convince me that your party deserves my vote based on my issues?
You’re not going to address the fascism/authoritarianism/cheating/coup attempts? You have nothing to say about what your party will do to address global warming? Are you going to say anything, in your endless and tedious “both parties are the same thing!” comments, about how the GOP is the exact opposite of the Democratic Party? |
Disagree. I am a moderate independent, and blame Biden for abuse of executive orders (I also blame pretty much every 20th and 21st century president for this). I blame all of Congress for the current budget deficit and failure to control immigration. I blame Obama for violating American citizens' rights to due process by ordering targeted drone strikes on them. I blame everyone in government for allowing the NSA to spy on American citizens without warrants. There are lots of things that bother me about both major parties. |
I mean the issue is that the current GOP doesn't have any semblance of a policy platform. Just like the posters (or poster?) in this thread, it's all attack-attack-attack with not a single answer in their head. |
You may start with the Democrat radical agenda to swing our borders open. Who in our lifetime— or in American history —has done anything like this? |
Nobody has done anything like that, including the Democrats you are fecklessly railing against, you liar. The OP kindly requested that you stop clogging up the thread with garbage. Do better. |
| GOP thinks they deserve your vote if you’re white. Otherwise they just think you are irrational for voting for Democrats as a white person. |
You need to join the real world. |
You have mischaracterized them but those are all precisely things that moderates do. You are criticizing from the left. |
Is this farce? |
Immigration policy has not changed significantly in decades. |
|
I 100% agree with your policy positions, OP. And also consider myself moderate and sincerely believe that those positions should be moderate, reasonable positions. And yet, they're not.
The difference I see between Dems and Rs is that the liberal wing of the Democratic Party is loud and pushy, but not ultimately in charge (for the most part). Their ideas are usually moderated when it comes to actual legislation and official Party policies. Republicans, in contrast, have a loud, pushy conservative wing and their leadership actively pursues the fringe as Party policy (halting Supreme Court confirmation of Scalia's replacement, but rushing through RBG's replacement; enacting forced birth legislation in states throughout the country; working against climate-friendly policies; "addressing" the immigration crisis by separating kids from their parents and putting them in cages). So, while in theory some of the Dems' more liberal policies are further to the left than my own, the Republicans are so much further to the right as a whole that there isn't really any danger of me voting red. The moderate "middle" leans left, only because the right is so much further from the middle. |
Serious question: What Democrat policies are in place that would swing open the borders? Snark: Was it not more "radical" for the party of "family values" to tear families apart in the name of "border security?" |
| There are certain individuals within the GOP who are hard-working public servants. But most of them are losing in their primary or retiring as the party shifts its focus more and more toward owning the libs. |
