The people who drank bleach. |
Really? The Democratic Party isn't quite at the disarray level and is barely functional. Isn't quite at the disarray level is still disarray. And "barely functional" is a direct quote. Reading IS fundamental. |
Brilliant! So if my nephew plays triple A baseball for a Washington Nationals affiliate, which isn't quite at the level of the Major Leagues, I can still tell everyone he plays for the Nationals since not quite at the Major League level is the same as the Major League level. Gotcha, yes this makes sense. Haha, this is the type of thoughtlessness that gets people like Donald fricking Trump elected. |
OMFG! If I have a party it’s the Dems. Stop gaslighting. |
OP. Your imagination is doing a lot of work for you here. I haven’t stomped or rattled anything. I clearly laid out my issues and invited the people who say that both sides are equally bad and Republicans to make the case for why I should vote for the GOP. There have been no “I’m voting Dem” pps you claim to have seen. I asked Moderated and Independents who think both sides are the same and Republicans to sell me on why I should vote for the GOP. There has not been a single persuasive argument. |
OP. Thank you for this. Yes, I think it’s bizarre that Moderates and Independents keep saying that both sides are the same. Republicans obviously fervently love their party and say the Democratic Party is bad. I’ve laid out my policy priorities and not a one of the above has been able to articulate why I should vote for a Republican, and they’re very upset I asked. |
I’m not voting for Trump or any Republican and I think the PPs assessment of OPs behavior was exactly correct. And you don’t seem to be able to read neutrally as well. |
What a weird take. But it’s clear you were trolling so no matter. |
Agreed. Completely odd. |
OP. I’m not trolling. It’s an honest question and one that a few of you are taking very personally. If you thought I was trolling, report me or don’t participate. It’s clear that none of you can sell the GOP. |
If you want open borders, you must vote Democrat, not Republican. |
OP doesn't care about the border or the economy per her OP. She cares solely about abortion rights, voting rights and combating climate change. R views on those vary but here's a sample: abortion is a matter for the states, voter ID is integral to fair elections, and nuclear energy should be promoted to avoid over loading the electric grid and the environmental destruction that alternative energy sources entail. OP won't go for any of that. |
Any mentally healthy person would have stopped posting here by now - but I don't think OP is looking for you to describe the R position on abortion in its most palatable terms. I think she's looking for how a R politician could convince her, who disagrees with them on THESE stances, to vote for them anyway. So it probably wouldn't be by insulting Democrats. It probably wouldn't be by insisting that if you don't vote R, you're a dummy who LOVES open borders. But it could be something about - I don't know - your vision of an economy that favors the middle class (how? i don't know - you tell me!), specifics on how how to effectively address crime, something something education. As far as I can tell, Rs' answers to all these things are ANGRY WORDS plus a whole lot of nothing (at best), plus MOOOR GUNS. But show us how that isnt the case! Show us what you can offer to a voter like OP - look, I HATE this, but it's what Youngkin did in VA to get himself the election. That plus a super bad opponent, and a weird crazy time in American life. But it shows it's not impossible to reel in a voter like OP, even with a candidate who is going to trash most of the stuff she says she cares most about. |
Op by her own admission does not care about any issue except the three she named. She cares nothing about the bolded ones above that you mention. |
That is not at all what she said, I don't think. She said those are the issues she cares most about - and, given that, can anyone convince her to vote R? So you're not going to convince her based on abortion rights. But how can you convince her that you offer an attractive enough package outside of that, that she should consider an R anyway. We're not going to find common ground on abortion, and probably not on voting or the environment - though at one point, not that long ago, there were Rs who were trying to get environmentalism into the GOP. I know that because my spouse worked with a bunch of them on these issues. They had inroads there - part of it was mitigation, some was through insurance, through stopping subsidizing environmentally harmful practices, etc. I don't know if that is still happening, but the point is that it can. I am not going to make your case for you, Rs - but you clearly need better messengers than a bunch of hot takers on DCUM calling troll the second someone shows some interest, even skeptical interest, in what you have to say. |
