Are unaware that women can be sexist? |
1/3 of teenage girls that I see. All the same ones whose parents protected them from every harm and struggle earlier in life. Now they will commit suicide if called by the standard English words associated with their birthed gender. Thank god they were and continue to be “protected” from the world. |
Also, does anyone else that took organic chem think applying cis to gender is super weird and confusing? |
I didn’t take organic chemistry, but I find it super weird and confusing. I don’t know where they came up with it, but it’s not intuitive. Even though it apparently applies to me, I had no idea what it meant when I first encountered it. Does “cis” have some special significance in organic chemistry? If I remember my basic chemistry correctly, C=Carbon, I=Iodine and S=Sulfur, but I thought organic compounds would be more likely to include hydrogen and oxygen. |
Maybe because we don't buy in to the possibility of anyone being gender fluid in a sexually dimorphic species. Our including our "pronouns" lends validity to a scientifically absurd idea. So, no, thank you. |
Exactly The idea of a gender separate from biology is simply a subjective belief, like a belief in ghosts - not some newly discovered characteristic of our species Some people believe in it, lots don’t |
This is why I don't understand introducing this concept to kindergarten and elementary kids. It's actually rather sophisticated. First, you need to understand basic biology and the difference between the sexes. Then you need to understand this psychological concept that gender identity is something separate and apart from sex. Then you need to be able to reconcile the two. I can't possibly imagine how a kid under 10 is able to articulate that. |
Yea, it’s stupid. I will strive to treat everyone the same l, no matter who they marry or also with or how they identify. But I’m tired of having pride and pronouns shoved down my throat. I don’t need to know anything about my colleagues’ genders or sexual practices. I’m not “proud” about being married and feel zero need to broadcast it for an entire month. |
You do realize that intersex people exist right? Trans people have existed throughout history - cultures around the world have names for two sex/intersex/non binary people. |
That’s fine - then they can tell everyone their pronouns if they feel it’s necessary. I know two men with old fashioned first names and they do that in email: From, (Mr.) Courtney Smith I don’t see why I need to list my 100% obvious pronouns. It truly is the definition of virtue signaling. Nobody, not even the most woke person, actually thinks pronouns are confusing for 95% of people. |
um what? I shouldn’t say people’s names at work? |
Whether or not intersex people exist or gender is separate from biology, your linguistic argument is flawed. If you want to convince others, you may want to offer other evidence. |
Actual intersex people are a hyper rarity. Yes, they do exist. However, simply because an outlier possesses either both or none of the human sexual organs does not mean you do. That's like saying because there have been 8 foot tall humans in our history, I can be one too, even though objectively I am not 8 feet tall. |
Those dumb kids will soon replace you. Your comments about “virtue signaling” indicate that you are outdated and don’t get it and are hostile to change and inclusivity. You are probably going to get sacked soon. |
You are completely full of shit and sound like a histrionic ninny. |
