| Taft wins......SJC came out strong.....but took some terrible shots on O and seemed to not want to try and play 6v6...kept pushing transition. Tafts tendy was very good....hate to say it as an SJC alum.....but they got beat by a better team.....anyways....SJC is still young...they will only get better. |
It probably is better, although Salisbury and Taft both lost to Bullis las time they played. Deerfield is probably the best team in the country this year. To be fair, many of those schools benefit from PG's, no? |
Deerfield, Brunswick "Wick" and Salisbury are generally the cream of the crop in the New England West league. Taft has come on VERY STRONG just in the past 3 years (similar to SJC). To my knowledge, Bullis has never played Taft in an actual game. And seriously, please don't reference Fall Ball or Summer Ball as "real games" as they aren't. (running clock, still playing HS Federation rules). The New England West would own the IAC and even the MIAA this year. And by the way, they should as most schools bring in a few PGs a year and some of these schools with their boarding networks can simply recruit across the nation. |
| After watching Prep vs SJC and then SJC vs Taft, I highly doubt that any IAC team can compete with SJC this year. IAC just plays very sloppy to me. Too many turnovers to compete which odd to say considering teams like Bullis are stacked with D1 seniors. |
| St. John’s beats Taft with there FO guy healthy. |
Ah the old "that inferior team played the perfect game while the superior team inexplicably played horribly and it was still a close game" post. Been waiting for this one. Anyone who watched that game is fully aware that except at Fogo SJC was better at every position on the field. If not for the GP Fogo that was likely a 4-6+ goal game. Also there is no such thing as "barely won", you either win or lose, scoreboard has final say. I will leave you with an apt movie quote (name that movie): "You have been weighed, you have been measured, and you have been found wanting." |
| Can Gonzaga get it together for ONE game? Full of seniors. Can they lead? |
| Is Preps FO guy hurt? Broken thumb? |
If the IAC plays sloppy lacrosse to you, what about the WCAC. Its not like the WCAC is a lacrosse powerhouse conference. Prep vs SJC round II will be very interesting. I bet you both teams will square off again. |
Except SJC FO guy is out for the year and who knows if he will be the same type of impact player next year. |
Typical ignorant and mistaken public school parent. If there are more in total #, then could it be because there are way more public school players than private school? Hmmm. So maybe you should take statistics 101 and determine the % of private school kids who play at the next level versus the % of public school. It is not even close. |
I just don't understand this argument. Perhaps those schools are stronger. What does that have to do with local lacrosse? |
Fellini's Satyricon? |
Not comparing the WCAC to the IAC. Comparing SJC with the IAC. They play to sloppy to beat them. |

"If you look at lacrosse at the next level there are more public school kids playing than there are private. Plain and simple."
Yikes! Not a very informed opinion. First, in New York, the publics are traditionally the lax power houses. With the exception of Chaminade and St. Anthony's, it's public school kids that are filling collegiate rosters from the Empire State. In most of the other mid-Atlantic and eastern states the privates are stronger. Of course you have the occasional public schooler make, and even excel, at the top programs, but that s the exception. Finally, it's a numbers game. A better measure would be how many D1 rosters have kids from IAC, NE-West, Founders League, MIAA, etc. These are small leagues with smaller student bodies. The concentration of talent is insane. |
