Taft, Brunswick, Deerfield, Avon and Salisbury would run circles around GP, Bullis, Landon, Gonzaga and SJC as evident as tonight.

It probably is better, although Salisbury and Taft both lost to Bullis las time they played. Deerfield is probably the best team in the country this year. To be fair, many of those schools benefit from PG's, no?

Deerfield, Brunswick "Wick" and Salisbury are generally the cream of the crop in the New England West league. Taft has come on VERY STRONG just in the past 3 years (similar to SJC).

To my knowledge, Bullis has never played Taft in an actual game. And seriously, please don't reference Fall Ball or Summer Ball as "real games" as they aren't. (running clock, still playing HS Federation rules).

The New England West would own the IAC and even the MIAA this year. And by the way, they should as most schools bring in a few PGs a year and some of these schools with their boarding networks can simply recruit across the nation.

I just don't understand this argument. Perhaps those schools are stronger. What does that have to do with local lacrosse?

Agreed. Is there not a NEUrbanMom? All those school are outstanding. Not sure anyone has ever said anything different, or certainly don't "insist" it. My son is a 21 D1 commit and has always said those teams up in Mass are excellent. Club programs are good too. Hope that makes you feel better about yourself, PP.

Strange that USA Mag doesn’t rank Taft. Is that because they don’t feel they are a HS because of the older players?
Anonymous
US Lacrosse does not include teams in their rankings that have PG's on the roster.

If true US Lacrosse has it right. Kids that have graduated HS shouldn't be playing another year in HS. Lol

So why is Deerfield ranked then.

There are two rankings:
- Inside Lacrosse which includes PGs
- Nike/USA Lacrosse Magazine which does not include PGs.

so Prep and Zaga Dads are going to cry because the New England Preps have PGs on their roster but the two Jesuit programs are littered with 19 year old seniors

The pot calling the kettle black

Injuries part of the game can’t use the excuse

It was a factor but SJC had enough possessions to score 11. Like a previous poster said, they were taking a lot of hurried shots and not playing 6 on 6. However, Tasty is very legit and kept game reasonable.

Comparing players that already graduated from HS to reclass players is different.

How?

I am curious how PG's and "reclassed" or repeated students that are the same age playing on a High School Team are different. How are they different if they are the same age? One argument would be the advantage goes to the repeats who get to play with their teams for longer and develop that all important chemistry. Every year a PG laden team has to buy into an existing culture and figure out how to play together.

What I do notice is some real silliness coming from what I assume are Prep and GZ parents, a lot of the Mater Dei pipeline is repeated reclassed kids, and of course other posters on this board - I'm looking at you Landon and Bullis. That is an advantage they do not like to be called out on.

There is a great podcast on Fairness and the way the NBA's scrutiny of Official's calls has caused those officials to be more fair, and you know who doesn't like it, you know who has the biggest flare ups at the refs? The Stars. They don't like losing the privilege of traveling when they want, having soft fouls called on them, or having fouls called on them. These stars are like some of the Prep and GZ, and wider group of privileged parents and students posting on these message boards who feel their unearned advantages are under assault and eroding. They really cry a lot about it. NE schools with 19 year olds beat my sons team with 19 hear olds, It ISNT FAIR! We liked being able to beat up on the teams with younger kids with our older kids. We don't like it when other teams with older kids beat up on our equally aged kids, or slightly younger kids - but who are still older than their typical competition.

Wah Wah Wah.

There is a similar connection between these folks and the Trumpies out there.

great post and thanks for the pod Cast recommendation

Great post with very good points. How dare you game the system better than us? We spent a lot of time and money slow rolling our kid thru private school to get a few precious years of undeserved advantage while mocking fairness.

LOL at all you Lacrosse people. Lacrosse is for people who couldn't do any other sport. Almost no thinking and decision making is required and the field is way too big with way too many players. A couple of kids do everything and other on the field watch. Have your kids play hockey, soccer, basketball, baseball, even football for a real experience.
