I don't get how you're an obtuse @sshole. Yeah, taking out debt and paying interest seems like a real fiscally prudent idea when there is a shutdown with no end in sight. Any more sage advice? |
What is your HHI? The ones that are going to the food pantries are the ones at the bottom of the payscale. Some are contractors that are losing their income and will not get it back. |
Peace be with you. The 'othering' of americans helps you until you need understanding and guidance. You can take your discomfort out on unpaid workers or the government. You choose the unpaid workers. Wrong choice. |
Hi. Hoping this is sarcasm, but in case it isn’t: 40% of American adults could not handle an unexpected $400 expense. https://www.cnbc.com/2018/05/22/fed-survey-40-percent-of-adults-cant-cover-400-emergency-expense.html |
FYI many of the IRS workers being brought back are paid 12 -15/hr. These are not six figure national office jobs. They’re asking people to open mail and do data entry and not be paid until some unknown future date. These are Gs2 to GS4. Other jobs like people manning the toll free lines are GS5-8. Again, not rich. How much credit do you think a person making $12/hr has? How much interest can they absorb? This is why so many called back by the IRS are utilizing the financial hardship clause of the union contract and asking to be put back on furlough until the shutdown is over. |
That's a good point - to be fair, I - and many on DCUM - have an automatic picture of gov employees all being gs-13+ types working at DOJ, State, IC, Treasury, etc. The intellectually stimulating jobs at the top agencies. |
Republican senators Gardner, Murkowski, and Collins would vote to reopen the government without border wall funding. https://thehill.com/homenews/senate/426720-gop-senator-to-break-with-party-vote-to-reopen-government-without-border-wall?fbclid=IwAR0mm__kES1R2IkuACBeMSDM66OUMWdTWVuZn44zQtlo6TcMDK3MvlG3Sow |
Trump will kick something off in Venezuela and puss Putin off and who knows what next. The man is beyond hope. |
Piss obviously. |
Every agency has at least some low level employees. The mail room clerks are often intellectually disabled because of federal hiring programs for the disabled. So now, smart wealthy jerks are expecting low-level intellectually-disabled employees with only one job skill to have sound financial plans and extensive credit lines. |
He will never piss Putin off, so we're safe for now. He'll need to find another country to pick on. |
At the IRS, they have large numbers of non-disabled people working at low grades because they have such need for these positions. These opening are for the types of jobs that people are being called back to work at for no pay. https://www.usajobs.gov/GetJob/ViewDetails/510626900?PostingChannelID=RESTAPI https://www.usajobs.gov/GetJob/ViewDetails/510528500?PostingChannelID=RESTAPI https://www.usajobs.gov/GetJob/ViewDetails/508693200?PostingChannelID=RESTAPI https://www.usajobs.gov/GetJob/ViewDetails/506421700?PostingChannelID=RESTAPI People working these types of jobs (and others) cannot withstand work without timely pay. |
Omg just vote to reopen without a wall! This is what the majority of Americans want. |
Fox News Poll: Voters see shutdown as bigger problem than border situation
Will Fox News talking heads and entertainers discuss this for the Cult45 crowd? |
I thought this would be it. I thought the Senate would reopen the government, for whatever short or long period of time. I thought we'd be done with this stupid stupid shutdown. |
