A federal district court threw a wrench into last year’s shutdown negotiations when it decided to intervene in the DACA saga. But as mentioned, that is not a permanent fix, and neither the court nor the Dems have done the Dreamers any favors.

Democrats did not fold. They demanded legislative solutions in exchange for $25B for the wall. Trump was negotiating in bad faith and demanded more. The failure of the negotiations is on Trump. DACA situation is at the same place it was before Trump cancelled it to use the dreamers as pawns. Since the dreamers are not under imminent threat, Democrats will address the situation when they have complete legislative majority. So, no it’s not a win for your orange buffoon!

That kind of nasty rhetoric is not warranted. And you’re wrong, the Dreamers are in a very precarious situation. Eventually the Supreme Court will overturn the lower court decision, and they will be subject to removal. If the Dems were smart, they would trade the wall for the Dreamers. Could still happen, we shall see.

1. The 25B number D's are throwing around was an appropriation, not a penny of it funded. He didn't walk away from anything, it was an empty envelope.

2. DACA was found unconstitutional. It's still in place only under a temporary stay. Keep holding your breath.

3. Mexican's currently remit 50M per year to mexico. DT has the authority to put a tax on that (say 10%) and fully fund the wall.

1. That was the deal. 25B in wall money for DACA. It didn't happen because Trump backed out. That's the only reason.
2. Only thing that may be unconstitutional is whether the President had the authority to implement without Congress. There is no question tjat Congress can authorize by legislation, which the Democrats would prefer.

I did not read this whole thread but I'm a taxpayer. I make in the lower five digits and I am seriously pissed off. If we don't have the money to properly fund veterans health care or feed kids breakfast at school in the morning (I don't care who their parents are) and I can't afford to go to the doctor (please don't insert the illegal immigrants dog whistle here because it has nothing to do with why I can't afford healthcare) I certainly cannot see how we can afford to build a large structure that will be obsolete in five years.
