How long will the shutdown last?

Both are to blame.

Trump: I want a wall.
Pelosi: If we give in, he'll ask for more next time.

All the while, people living paycheck to paycheck were being played.

Both sides are sick, and sadly, most Americans won't break free from a left or right agenda LONG enough to witness how they're pawns in this game for power.

You do know the shutdown cost $6B, which is more than Trump's request.

and those poor contractors who won't be paid at all . . .

Who's looking after the "little people?"

Do you think if Democrats had given in he'd not try it again when he wanted something else? Do you honestly think he wouldn't?

Any parent who has dealt with a toddler knows you don't give in to demands like that because you're just feeding the beast.

There is and the Freedom Caucus could not be happier. So glad the Democrats did not allow this tactic to work. If Mitch McConnell is smart he will allow the Senate to vote on a bill to avoid all future shutdowns by having an automatic CR if an appropriation bill does not pass by a funding deadline. We need to stop allowing our federal government to be held hostage to the whims of any one Senator or the President. I wish we had learned this lesson after Ted Cruz paralyzed the nation in 2013.

The only problem with that is given inflation and COL issues, it could result in de facto reduction in government services unless there is a provision for that installed.

Sorry, Trump owns this. He turned down everything that was offered before, then chose to make this his hill to die on. He could have ended the shutdown at any point and chose to drag it out till the bitter, humiliating end he got. Why does the government have to shut down for Trump's whims? They should have legislated this in the correct manner.

Nope, this is 100% on Trump and McConnell and will remain so.

Remember how gleeful the GOP was during the Dem-sponsored DACA shutdown, as the dems lost support? You'd think the GOP would have learned a lesson from watching
Taxpayers don't like shutdowns, generally

We're not talking about a toddler. That is a lame ass excuse that is resurrecting daily! He's a narcissist! Even if he lost this one, he'll concoct another scenario to get his way. They change the narrative to suit their needs.

Pelosi, on the other hand, is showing some stubborn traits at the expense of people who NEED jobs. $6B lost b/c of this mess

She's to blame as well, and I can GUARANTEE he's pissed enough to do something worse during his next round.

I don't dare say that Pelosi "won" this battle . . .

Even more amazing, he didnt want to shut down coronavirus, or fund testing and contact tracing. And he gasses proyesters and paid only $750 in taxes.

Remember how manic life was barely 3 months ago when insurrectionists stormed the Capitol and Trump refused to concede? Now the most interesting tweet is of a kitten rolling with a ball of yarn. As it should be on a Saturday morning. Happy Biden Day!
