They’re asking people to open mail and do data entry and not be paid until some unknown future date. These are Gs2 to GS4. Other jobs like people manning the toll free lines are GS5-8. Again, not rich. How much credit do you think a person making $12/hr has? How much interest can they absorb? This is why so many called back by the IRS are utilizing the financial hardship clause of the union contract and asking to be put back on furlough until the shutdown is over.[/quote] That's a good point - to be fair, I - and many on DCUM - have an automatic picture of gov employees all being gs-13+ types working at DOJ, State, IC, Treasury, etc. The intellectually stimulating jobs at the top agencies.
