How long will the shutdown last?

DH stops getting paid on Monday. I work but don’t make enough to support us and am getting nervous.

I'm being optimistic but I think they will make a deal next week or at least the end of the week.

I'm a contractor and my leave stops next week and am very nervous too! I want to get back to work. I can get through a month, but I really don't see this lasting for a month.

Think about all the people who are working without pay, Air Traffic Controllers, TSA agents, etc..., how can they really screw everyone over and not pay them for more than a month?? I think everyone will be much more antsy next week since people are really still in vacation mode.

And how crappy for those idiots to do this to people over the holidays, geez.

Anyway, I think it'll last another one to two weeks. They will meet in the middle with a way of labeling funds that both sides can play off as a win.

The truth is there’s not much that the OP or anyone else can do about it, other than perhaps phone their representatives daily and demand that they approve the money for the wall. Otherwise this very likely will drag on and on.

I think the Dems will hold out for a comprehensive immigration bill. Whether funding gets done in good faith before that, or after, I don't know.

My cousin works not in the DMV and has a FR position with the TSA. She’s a single parent to a 2 year old, and is responsible, reserved, kind. She should be in this position because you think it’s hilarious to have someone CURRENTLY working for zero pay in national security because you think it’s just marvelous to joke about six more years.

Actually, he won last year’s shutdown crisis over DACA. No reason to believe he won’t win again. I think he realizes that shutdowns are one of his most effective tools.
