What’s with the GOP obsession with Catholics on the court?

Pro-life stuff?

Catholic Church’s obsession with sex and with controlling women’s bodies.

It's interesting because many Christians (at least in Oklahoma, where I'm from) don't believe Catholics are Christian.

I'm French. Many Catholics in Latin countries (which to Europeans means Italy, France, Spain and Portugal, as well as Latin America) don't see Protestants as Christians! To them, Christian=Catholic. They represent the immense majority of Christians in these countries. It's interesting that in Europe we use the term "Protestant" to designate anything that isn't Catholic. We still remember that their split from the Church was an act of protest. And I don't think many French people, or other Europeans, really know the difference between various Protestant groups. In French the saying "Ce n'est pas tres Catholique" (literally "This is not very Catholic") means "This looks fishy"

LOVE that idea. Not sure Obama would though.

Is it legal?

Of course it’s legal but Biden has already promised to nominate a Black woman. And no, it won’t be Michelle Obama.

Yup. Because the democrats got rid of the filibuster for judicial nominations. Resp the whirlwind.

Because Mitch, as minority leader, took unprecedented steps to force vacancies in the judiciary, to the point that the court complained that it was becoming unfunctional.

There is a special place in hell waiting for him. He is more evil than Trump.

Who was that? Those words... those words don’t sound like Trump at all so who the heck was that?

Damn. There is some humanity in there somewhere.

I think he was tipped off that it was likely to happen, and told what he had to say.

Oh, he was tipped off, all right.

We have lost so much in their service and model of what was/could be in their passing.

A lot of people in KY are hurting. Not, mind you, that McConnell gives a dn about them.

I think he will wait until after the election because those GOP senstors who lost can vote for their nominee with no repercussions. However, big rump will have more ompory things on his mind if he loses. He is going to hustle like he has never done before because he needs to resign so Pence can pardon him.

The biggest problem for Democrats is that voters will be thinking about the SC instead of COVID. We're numb as a country to 200,000 deaths and now we'll have confirmation hearings to distract us.

I really wish politicians would stop referring to our COUNTRY (not a nation, mind you) as a democracy.
