Holy crap. “Attorney Alan Tucker told Inside Edition Friday that he was responsible for releasing the footage, which showed his pals Gregory and Travis McMichael engaged in a fatal altercation with Arbery in Brunswick on February 23. 'I really thought releasing the video would put the truth out to the public,' Tucker stated. 'If he [Arbery] had just froze and hadn't done anything, then he wouldn't have been shot.'” Any former client of this guy should file an immediately file an appeal based on ineffective counsel. |
What a disgusting piece of trash Alan Tucker is. I agree pp. |

The McMichaels were denied bond. Good.

Also, the police force in this county is a corrupt disgusting mess.

You just have to love these racist apologists twisting themselves every which way to absolve those rednecks of murder.

None of this matters.
Why, because those two stupid idiots with guns killed a man who did not have a gun. They are not police officers. They killed someone period, who was not in anyway threatening their lives to the point they had to shoot. There is zero defense here. Doesn't matter the character of the guy shot, he didn't have a gun. He wasn't attacking them. Anyone defending them is sick.... |
It matters for two reasons, although I am not defending them. I think they should get a fair trial, and, if appropriate, a fair hanging. As a practical matter, I don’t think there is much if any chance that these guys won’t be convicted of some flavor of criminal homicide, as IMO they should be based on what I know about the case so far. It will significantly affect the case though—it basically takes first degree murder off the table, since I don’t think a procsecutor will be able to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that it was premeditated. The defense will be able to plausibly argue it was just a citizens arrest gone bad. That also puts negligent homicide on the table, although I doubt they get off that easy. But there is now a real chance of a disposition like voluntary manslaughter, and that’s really going to piss a lot of people off. We’ll see, a lot depends on the details of state law. Second, a lot of the discussion is around the larger social meaning of this case, and IMO it’s totally different if you have a couple of yahoos intentionally killing for sport vs. stupidly confronting a burglar in a way that recklessly caused his death. |

Other than Mayberry, WTF is a citizens arrest? If two guys stalked my while I was on a run, and they commanded that I stop, I would tell them to GFThemselves. They had no right to try to stop him, no right to do anything, and the idea that the jogger was supposed to stop because to hunyacks in a pick up truck commanded it is total BS. |
Except there was no robbery, ergo, the victim was not a burglar. These guys didn't witness him doing anything other than going for a run on a public street. |
+1 Yet PP wrote the older one is a stand up guy. Just like Trump's "Very fine people" showing up with Long guns to a protest. Jail is too good for these good old boys. |
Yes, a fair trial out of their racist county would be the way to go. No getting around they did this, social media powerful thing. They need to keep their racist bottoms in jail for ever. |

| Well there goes the bloom off that rose. |
| My son and my husband have both walked around houses being built here in Arlington. Not smart, maybe not legal but neither one of them deserves to be shot to death by redneck vigilantes. |
