PP thinks busing only means putting kids on buses when demographic balance is a consideration. Putting rich kids on buses for 16 miles to attend a wealthy school is just the natural state of affairs. It’s “proximity” to the nearest school with no poor kids. It’s time to eradicate that kind of clueless entitlement. Clueless entitlement? It sounds like jealously. Nobody is entitled to live in McLean or Great Falls. People who want to purchase a home their save to do so. They bought an investment product. It's not their fault that FCPS doesn't do more to help failing students. Are the Herndon kids going to become A students because they attend HS with Great Falls kids? No. This sounds like some petty and economically jealous people looking for ways to make themselves feel better. You would be better served looking at the real causes of school failure. THERE IS CURRENTLY NO LAW THAT SAYS BOUNDARY CHANGES CANNOT HAPPEN. If your realtor told you that, then there is a bridge in Brooklyn I’d like to sell you. |
Why do you think busing kids out of Great Falls is helpful to kids who don't know the alphabet at the age of 10 years old? The Langley parents will hold this up in court for years. Fix your Herndon crap and leave us out of it. We don't hate you and we don't bother you. If you are not happy with your area leave or fix it. You are solving any problems by dragging kids into it. |
Proximity is the first item listed in the consideration for boundaries in the policy. |
You seem to think this is not your problem. Why are you so entitled? |
Hey, guess what? Parents who try to challenge boundary changes consistently lose and they don’t get injunctive relief while their cases wind through the courts, either. So threats by Langley parents are empty ones at best (plus, if they are to be believed, they probably won’t want to waste money on lawsuits when they are already supposedly going to lose equity in their homes). One Fairfax means recognizing this is one county and we are all in it together. Great Falls is just one unincorporated part of the county with no special right to establish policy for FCPS. |
No law says they have to happen, either. |
I'm not entitled. I was orphaned at 4 and now I have money. I paid my way after working since I was 12. You should try it. I'm not going to lie, I don't want my kids to go to school with MS 13. That why I built in GF after living in McLean. Poverty is horrible and I don't want to go back. |
I'm guessing you didn't have children by the time you were 20. |
No boundary changes for at least a year--at least, that is how I interpret her tweets.
According to Pat Hynes. twitter.com/votepathynes |
She’s a pathetic hypocrite who should just stop talking. |
Agree. But, that doesn't mean what she posted is not accurate. I'd think she would know more about their plans than we do--that is, unless there is a SB member posting here. |
It was always clear that the School Board would keep kicking the can down the road and not make any decisions until after the election. Democrats have forfeited their right to serve on the School Board. They don’t give a crap about education or facilities management, just school names, minority suspensions, and transgender bathrooms. |
+ one million |
They will win anyway. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if they sweep the School Board this year. |
Vote for Republican candidates for School Board this fall. Hynes and her cronies have been a disaster.
It’s telling that Hynes thinks damage control means confirming that at least another year will pass before the School Board does anything to address some of the most pressing problems facing FCPS. Too bad she doesn’t just leave now. |
