Private School Lacrosse Thread

It's only Gonzaga, Georgetown Prep, Landon, that are traditionally great.

There's a million other schools.

I'd take Georgetown Prep out of the equation and replace them with Bullis.

Prep will be back .. Bullis will eventually fade out. Bullis has periodic success in wrestling and other sports but never had staying power because it doesn't offer the prestige that Gonzaga, GP , Landon or Dematha.

Those schools mean something . When people graduate from them people notice it for life when you get asked where you went to high school.

In DC area it's

St Albans , GP, Gonzaga, Landon, Dematha, Holton, Stone Ridge, Visitation that turns heads for life.

Among publics TJ, Churchill ,Whitman ,Blair are probably it.

Dematha is the only one that's nationally known for decades and decades. Iconic.

Maybe in your world. Maybe for turning out dumb football players. But not for anything else.

Not for lacrosse. Not for academics. Not as a Washington institution. Not by a loooooooong shot.

Dematha is probably the best known high school in the United States. Mater Dei in LA is probably second.

LOL. STA would destroy Churchill.

Never heard of 'em.

2015 graduate here, when we played churchill, who was the best team in moco by far, we routed them it wasnt even close. They even had multiple D1 kids and it was a double digit win for us. People say the gap is going to close but imo it never will.

Mark my words, there will soon be a day the private schools will cringe at having to play Express and the MoCo publics like Churchill and Whitman and QO.

Express has some good 2021 kids, but that's it. They are working from the putrid Performance talent pool, which is predominant MoCo public school kids. They are nowhere near a strong program. The best DC Express 2021 kids will be leaving for other clubs by the time the fall tryouts hit.

Sorry to burst your bubble, MoCo parent.

Churchill has a lot of very strong D1 kids. Very good public school team. But they would get pounded in the WCAC, IAC, etc. Come on.

Churchill played Landon fairly close last year. I believe it was a 4 goal game at halftime but the score was a lot closer than the final score indicated. I have no dog I the fight here but just an observation from last Spring
.
