Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS)
They are taking their sweet time ugh! People have to plan.
|
I really don't understand why some people want the decision tonight. How does that help? You're not going to be calling people for help at this hour. It's better to see what actually happens. This could easily be nothing. |
I agree. Not a teacher, but my kids have gone through MCPS and my last kid is in high school. |
What can you do to plan right now that you can't do at 5am? |
| I'm confused, I thought it was officially delayed?? Or is that only FCPS? I know there isn't any news from DCPS (checked out their snow day post on DCUM and a lot of discussion on there) |
No, they're going to see if it actually snows or rains. |
I can plan to sleep in a bit longer |
clocked |
Would that be a good reason to needlessly take a school day away from kids? |
Troll |
| No but if a delay is likely best to make parents and staff aware in a timely matter |
| Just call the delay already Taylor...ugh |
It doesn't help them to learn now versus 5am. Better to wait until there's more information to make a better decision. |
The problem with calling a delay now is that if it misses us, people will get really mad if they reverse the decision and open on-time. |

Not that poster, but there are other systems that get out early if they don’t use any snow days.
And? It's a terrible system that is incredibly anti-family. This is such a weird take. It isn’t schools that are anti-family, it’s employers. |
