While I totally get the concern about Rhaenyra's children not being legitimate, I admit I am a little confused about the supposed premium placed on virtue. It just seems out of sync with the general vibe of the show. Allicent is the first to call for protection of virtue but she was seducing the King while he was grieving. And I find it REALLY hard to buy that Criston is just standing around serving as the King's guard with seemingly no consequences. And that Rhaenyra up and took up with another dark haired dude part of her guard and has been with him for many years. Like, she and Laenor never tried? Anyway, I think all of that is a bit of a mess, but I am fascinated with all the children.
Daemon's story is a bit sad. I kind of like that he took off to Pentos and peaced out from all the Westeros crap. His wife's end was very sad, but also weird. No one tried to stop her? Enough with the childbirth scenes, please.
Honestly, I am ready for the Laenor death and Rhaenyra/Daemon love story storyline here.
I mean, what were Laena’s options? Death by fire (I believe she alluded to a dragon rider’s death earlier in the episode), or being butchered alive like Queen Aemma? Pretty sure I would take the dragon death there, too.
