Prior to JOK’s death, there was money set aside for JOK’s niece and nephew. Karen helped JOK set the money aside in safe investment so that the money would be there for future use. She is not on the accounts (never was).
Paul is JOK’s brother and Peggy is his (their) mother.
Peggy fought JOK in the courts for years for custody over the kids and stopped speaking to JOK when he won custody.

This is an absolute and disgusting LIE. The family never had a rift, there was never any contention over John having primary custody of the children and Peg has always been a co-guardian of the children since their mother died.

I attribute it to the overall lack of trust in institutions and police in general now. Proctor certainly made it worse and was the reason she was acquitted.

You must be reading the Truth Social version of the court documents. Unfortunately, Peggy has had a difficult life. It is obvious in the way she spoke about her family on the stand this trial. I hope she gets into therapy before Jen McCabe throws her aside once the FBI comes calling.

It is incumbent on the LE agency to dispose of phones / tech with sensitive details on it. Not for Brian Higgins to bring it to a military base and destroy it. That sounds insane.

I just saw a cop-cam video of the police informing Karen of the charges in the indictment (a million years ago) and she makes a comment about the Alberts beating him up and she’s exasperated. She asks the cop “we’re in on the same joke, right?” Something about it just feels so authentic and reflective of her actual belief, not just redirection. Good for her for not taking a plea.

The sad thing is there will never be justice for the dead man. I feel so terrible for him and his family. It's obvious that there was some fight, maybe an accident,the dog attacked him and he fell backward. Why did the high schooler have bruised right knuckles(he Said he slipped on ice and I guess he is the only human being on earth who doesn't instinctively hold out his palms to try to break the fall, instead he balls his right fist and ONLY his right fist).

Then there was a panic of phone calls and this was their solution. I think they were hoping to make it look like he got hit by the snow plow.

I think what you mean to say is that there’s conflicting evidence and the defense chose not to focus on this detail in the second trial because the condition of the body and the police misconduct were more compelling and less confusing themes to present to a jury. Anything relating to a conspiracy required them to prove a case within a case, and that wasn’t a winning strategy. The timing of the Google search, which at least one witness lied to the grand jury about (she conceded this on the stand this trial!), is still very much in dispute.

Couldn’t Karen Read just as easily sue others? She just won a case that determined she didn’t kill JOK. I would think she could sue others for slander?

Seems like any wrongful death suit is against the wrong person (Read). They should sue the police or others who were likely involved in the death. Not someone who is not guilty of the death.

She is lucky she had the resources to hire good lawyers. They were assuming that she would take a plea deal (WHICH THE OWNERS OF THE HOUSE WERE TEXTING ABOUT saying she'd better go for the plea deal) omg it is absolutely chilling.
