Prior to JOK’s death, there was money set aside for JOK’s niece and nephew. Karen helped JOK set the money aside in safe investment so that the money would be there for future use. She is not on the accounts (never was).
Paul is JOK’s brother and Peggy is his (their) mother.
Peggy fought JOK in the courts for years for custody over the kids and stopped speaking to JOK when he won custody.

I just learned about this trial last week and did a deep dive and it's insane how shady the owners of that house where he was found are. WHAT DID THEY DO WITH THE DOG?? Seven 'butt dials ' in the early morning to different people, all who happen to have been at the house when the guy was dropped off . And then she tried to delete the call log. Googling 'how long to die in snow ' at 2 am and then deleting it,and then butt dialing more people!


And the prosecutor literally lied during trial about holes in a sweatshirt that were snipped out in the crime lab. He had to apologize in open court. What a disaster and it is scary that this is probably the norm everywhere. Incompetent corrupt evil police.

She is lucky she had the resources to hire good lawyers. They were assuming that she would take a plea deal (WHICH THE OWNERS OF THE HOUSE WERE TEXTING ABOUT saying she'd better go for the plea deal) omg it is absolutely chilling.

Oh and don't forget about the police officer who was at the house that night and was the recipient of the butt dials,who for some reason decided to get a new phone shortly after that night. He drove to a military base,took out the sim card of his old phone, destroyed it, and then threw it out in one dumpster and then found another dumpster to throw the phone in . Hmmm nothing shady about that,no sir! I always drive to military bases to throw out my destroyed sim cards.

I agree OP that the case against her just wasn’t very strong.

I did my best to be neutral-minded about both sides but I wouldn’t have been able to convict her if I were a jury member.

It was very clear to me that the police were doing a huge cover up for her boyfriend.

I think she was sincerely devastated when she learned her s/o had passed away…..

My sister is a prosecutor and we discussed this case and she thought this was a clear violation of prosecutorial ethics. This case never should have been tried.

Who knows? The money was raised back in 2014 when their parents died. She did more for those kids than many of Johnny’s so called besties.

I'm totally new to this thread after seeing the verdict of the trial. What's the TLDR summary? Regardless of the verdict, is the consensus that she is guilty or not?
