Anybody following the Karen Read trial in Boston?

She hit him. They had been drinking a lot that night and had a fight in the car. She dropped him off and angrily drove away. I don't know if she hit him on purpose, but she did. She might have vaguely realized she hit some thing and it didn't click until the next morning that it was John O'Keefe.

The cover up defense is insane. The DA is overcharging and can't prove it.

The saddest part is that John O'Keefe and his family are forgotten in this circus.

He doesn’t have wounds consistent with being hit by a car. And also has Apple data placing him in the house. Also scathing evidence with the Google search for his long does it take for a body to die of hypothermia. The cops did it.

They likely smashed their phones because they are drunken dumb cops and don’t want their careers and lives ruined by bottom feeding crim defense lawyers on a fishing expedition surfing through years of their photos, texts and emails and cheating on their wives or whatever else. Just like YOU wouldn’t want all of the contents of your cell phone in the public domain.

I grew up there too - it’s called the South Shore, not the south coast. Canton’s not a south shore town.
At first I felt badly for her, assuming she felt remorse for driving drunk and hitting her BF. But then when the information came out about her kissing that other guy and seeing her enjoying all this attention, my sympathy for her has dried up. There’s something about her behavior that makes me doubt that she’s a good person - however I don’t think she hit him on purpose. I think it was a drunk driving incident and she should be held accountable for that, not anything more.

I’m not sure about this being still accepted as fact. The prosecution had expert witness testimony contradicting the time that the search was done, saying she searched that once O’Keefe’s body was found.

I saw that - I guess it will come down to who is more believable. I thought the FBI was conducting and investigation into how the case was handled. If that’s true it’s insane that the judge allowed the trial to go forward before that was complete.
