Again: did JFK, Nixon, or Reagan have to show ID when they cast their ballots?
If no, there is zero reason to make any of us show an ID. What has changed in the intervening years that necessitates voter ID? Not one Republican has addressed these points. |
Republicans: the party of personal responsibility. Unless a nerd asks you to wear a mask. F that, muh freedoms! Or being liable for guns. F that, muh freedoms! So much bad faith, so much hypocrisy, so little time! |
There is absolutely no proof, not one scintilla, that any undocumented people voted in any elections. The absurdity to think that people who are actively trying to stay under the radar and in the crevices of our society would openly show up to vote in an election is absurd on the face of it. |
x10000000 These people frequently live in illegally subdivided houses just to fly under the radar and follow the law meticulously for the same reason and you guys actually honestly believe they just show up to vote? The absolutely inane absurdities you guys fall for... |
This is the irony of people like the OP and all the right leaning libertarians. They want everyone to have a voter ID card, and some are suggesting federalizing one, yet, it is such a massive overreach. |
We don't have insecure elections. It is a myth. The only insecurity in the 2020 election were a couple of GOP voters in PA, another GOP from Florida who voted in GA and some wacko lady in Nevada. There is literally no widespread voter fraud and thus no problem to fix. The only reason these bills are happening is so the GOP can suppress votes and try to remain in power. |
Please understand that we are dealing with l people that don't think rationally. Unfortunately, they also vote. And actually, they did quite well in the last election where there was no blue wave after all. So, GOP accuses democrats of favoring voter fraud and having "illegals" vote. I say call their bluff, and provide IDs to all citizen. In so doing, I am sure that those that have problems of missing documentation will have truly benefited. Now the will be able to take an airplane, open bank accounts, collect social security, avoid problems with estates, etc etc etc |
DP. You are absolutely ridiculous and have been spewing lie after lie. Of course the GOP wants all US citizens to vote. You, otoh, prefer to throw out excuse after excuse as to why a certain segment of the population simply can’t attain a basic ID. Could you possibly be more patronizing? |
US passport doesn't establish the right to vote in a local/state jurisdiction. It only allows passage to and from the US to other countries. |
Really? Are you so sure about that? Why did one of their lawyers, in front of the Supreme Court, basically admit that it is against the GOP’s interests of everyone voted? |
Because they are utterly stupid and irrelevant “points” which have nothing to do with present day? Just a thought. |
No, the GOP has been actively reducing the number of polling stations, limiting the locations where one can obtain ID's, reducing the number of voting machines at polling places in minority precincts to force long lines for decades. If the GOP was really interested in this, they would be facilitating more polling places, more safe voting machines and not passing these ridiculous bills. |
You think the above was written by a “right-leaning libertarian”? Did you miss the bolded? Clearly it’s the usual “I’m so anti-racist!” liberal.
|
Show, dear, don’t tell. Why has this country allowed voting without an ID for centuries if it’s so important? |
With upward of 22 million illegal aliens present, it is important to know who actually has the right to vote. ID is essential. You are welcome. |
