What a lie. Why are you so vehemently against American citizens being required to have ID in order to vote? Why does this threaten you so? DP |
There have always been non citizens present in the country. Why do you need ids now? Isn’t this the purpose of voter registration? |
This was explained. It is a barrier that disproportionately impacts people of color. That is wrong. What are you confused about? |
It doesn't but if you don't solve the problem of making ID's accessible for all who are entitled to them, then it is a form of voter suppression. But why do you keep citing the bogeyman of the hordes of illegals voting when there is no proof of any such activity taking place? |
. I agree it is a form of voter suppression if you don't solve the problem of making ID's accessible for all who are entitled to them. This whole thread started advocating that the federal government should solve this problem. |

You missed the point. A valid passport does not need to be renewed every time you change your address. As such, it cannot be used as a means to validate a jurisdiction to vote. |
What is the definition of elector and what are the documents allowable in subsection C. Without defined terms you cant state that this makes any point. Electors seem to be defined from the voter rolls but its unclear as I searched in the law and it wasnt defined. It also requires the "elector" to list the registered address. Registered address for what? How do you update that? If it doesnt match the registered address, again see previous question, then its considered provisional. Provisional can only be counted if the board is able to confirm the information provided. As far as 2000 electors, if its 2000 electors defined by the voter rolls then those were purged. https://www.gpb.org/news/2019/10/31/georgia-releases-list-of-313000-voter-registrations-be-removed-in-december. How do you lose your right to be considered an elector and counted in a precinct just because you didnt vote. "Georgians that are facing cancellation were moved to inactive status if they had “no contact” with elections officials after three years. That means they did not vote in elections, update their registrations or have any contact with elections officials, then failed to respond to a letter sent by elections officials. A law passed this year lengthens the time period to be declared inactive to five years." Didn't realize there was an expiration date on the right to vote? My DH has updated his address with the TSP 10x and we still get forwarded mail. Has updated DOD HR, has called and it doesnt matter. |
You missed the point. People are registered to vote in a jurisdiction. To register, you would need to show that you live there (utility bills, tax returns, etc) and to prove that you are a citizen. The passport takes care of that and it is a valid photo ID at the polling place, as shown in the extensive list above of states that recognize the passport as a valid voter ID. |
If you think that a person would break the law and use a fake name to vote, why wouldn’t they just get a fake if? How does this even prevent the fraud you claim can transpire? |
Cry me a river. How can take they make it to the polling location every other year, but can't seem to make it to the DMV in the last 10 years ( or however long a state ID is valid for)? |
|
*fake ID?
And how would they even know which name to use? This is a very complicated crime that has a limited impact. |
See my earlier post about my ill father, the WWII Marine. Why are you determined to be so ignorant? |
Because they are using bad faith arguments to defend the indefensible. They want to live in a fascist state that pays lip service to people who have served but ultimately only serves the rich. |
