Bullis Lacrosse Situation

Have you actually read the thread? The PP is clearly unhappy that the AD, who sounds like he is well liked and respected, seems to have been given the go-ahead to send the email announcing that the coach was fired, only to be thrown under the bus by the head once the controversy hit. I totally get the outrage.

What are you trying to imply? that the people that are upset about the Coach being fired are not up to par? Have you read all the comments of support on the petition? They see the Coach as not just a good coach but someone who supports these kids becoming good adults. That should be as important if not more so than making the kids good lacrosse players. In 5 years no one will care how good a lacrosse player your kid was. They will know what kind of adult they have become.

This is the THIS. The most important part of high school, academics and sports and whatever else included, is the outcome of what type of adults the kids become.

Is the Headmaster attempting to brush this under the rug?

Has Bullis still not made any public statement regarding whether a longtime teacher/ coach is either dismissed from coaching or re-instated?

I think the Board is potentially trying to sweep under the rug. They undermined the Headmaster and some of the administration and Staff by overturning alleged vote to dismiss the coach. That is normally not a Board’s role, at least in business, assuming Headmaster has the right to build his or her staff as they see fit. Now, everyone has gone silent as they work to get out of the mess the Board made.

How do you know this?

The speculations on this thread are absurd, and sometimes harmful to the people mentioned.

Re the handle of this by the school this far, this has been amateur and unprofessional. I feel badly for the well meaning students and parents who have to suffer as a result.

It’s Bullis, what do you expect. Of course they will screw things up, that’s what they do

Some members of the Board inappropriately colluded with some on the Administration and DCE to unseat a highly respected and successful coach, picking $ over integrity, leadership and success. It backfired when Bullis was bombarded with calls and letters from parents, alum and big donors and a petition showing a groundswell of support for JB. The Head of the school told the Post that he had not fired JB, that JB was the coach and the Head had no intention of firing JB in the future. Unfortunately it looks like some members of the Board are still in bed with DCE and holding things up. Since when should the Board be involved at all? It was inappropriate in the first go around and it's still inappropriate. Bullis needs to listen to the parents, alum, donors and petition signers who have spoken up very clearly and get its act together.

It's all on the HOS. He alone has the ability to hire/ fire, correct?

Bullis picked money over integrity. Oy Vey

One would think the HoS makes the decision, but reality is some Bullis Board members who drank the DCE coolaid are undermining the normal operations of the school.

a Bullis dad who is very involved with DCE is on the board at Bullis starting in the Fall!

So Boarman chose money over ethics....least surprising news of the century

And that Bullis dad/family was recruited to Bullis by JB. And JB brought in a lot of other top players over the past decade. Some members of Board seem to have fallen prey to false DCE claims that they brought in all the good/new players. What is Board doing in the mix on lacrosse program anyway? If they are in it, they owe it to Bullis to get facts straight.
