And if you’re an adult masquerading as a teen boy (not sure any one else would thrown around 6-7) then that’s pretty pathetic. |
What about when you banged on the garage doors at Tuckahoe two years ago during their team meeting before the meet? Banging on the doors and screaming at them before they came out for the meet. Was that a misunderstanding too? There’s video of that. Or when there were posted videos of the turtle piñata and cheers against highlands while you beat a piñata? Or when banners “went missing” and then your swimmers told people that they were burned? All of these must be rumors and misunderstandings. Grow up Chesterbrook! |
Hmmmm…you mean the panoramic photo showing both teams’ swimmers and coaches shaking hands while walking along the turn end of the competition pool that CB posted on IG yesterday at 10:56 am with the caption, “That was fun @okm_ospreys_swim_team!!” Yeah, it shows… the same thing that happens with every team after every meet: Swimmers and coaches shaking hands. Try again. |
Over the top and obnoxious:
Chesterbrook Tuckahoe OKM Gets that summer swim is..summer swim? OLV DR HS |
OKM lost all five meets last year. Did you see or hear any complaining about the racing, scoring, officials, seeding, etc? Why would they start using that tactic now? But pushing behavior that crosses the line under the rug is not helpful. I trust the team reps will work it out. I doubt they will put much stock in what anonymous posters are writing in DCUM and, instead, will rationally review any facts and work out a solution. Like grown ups do. |
Lost all 5 meets last year but somehow really good this year with the same kids??? |
OKM doesn’t have as a big a team as the others. Last year, most of the fast girls and many of the boys were in their down year. They are in their up year now. Next year, results may be similar to 2024. |
Oh, I wish. Love D2. |
Is this video posted online? |
With an 8 and under in d2, I’m scared at the prospect of d1. I sure hope we stay here! |
Their parents and swimmers weren’t great last summer either. You could tell they weren’t used to losing and didn’t know how to act. Their leadership is also…intense. Clearly it’s worked for them but it doesn’t make for a fun meet. Sad! |
OKM and CB are cut from the same cloth-both full of extreme, cut throat competitive crazy parents and recruited swimmers. This is the end result to no surprise. Been there done that in D1 and hopefully never going back! |
THIS! |
No way that is the reason |
Go to the “poached” thread. There’s not a single “scoring points” kid on CB or OKM who hasn’t been there since they were young, most 8U. Geez, look at the last names. OKM has maybe a total of 11 families producing all the boys (and some girls too) who score points, and another 13 families producing all the girls who score points. Every one of those families has been there since they started swimming in NVSL. Same with CB. Our club coach calls them “being from a swim family.” The parents of many of these swimmers swam D1 in college or, minimally, swam in high school. There is no big shock that certain teams continue to be successful, not OKM does not have the depth that most of the top division teams (even those in D2) have. And CB looks to be developing their kids either through club teams or winter swim, which is the same thing OKM, Highlands, DR, Overlee, Tuckahoe, Crosspointe, Orange Hunt, Vienna Aquatic, etc do. Put together a good winter swim option for non-club swimmers, and your kids stay in good enough shape to swim a few 25s or 50s. |
