Overlee Crash & Burn

Anonymous
Overlee girls didn’t win a single 8U event and also didn’t win a single 9-10 girls event. There were either a lot of kids out for some reason or this does not bode well for Overlee’s future.

lol. It is a funny post. As if any serious swimmer would look at summer swim as the means to improving their swimmer.

It probably is a troll but served its purpose. I didn’t know OKM handed Overlee a stunning defeat until I saw the post.

We watched the meet today but were completely unimpressed. Is there a better pool that we should join instead? Our oldest will be old enough for the team next year, and we are worried that Overlee is in a downward spiral. We want our kid to swim with the best, because we all know that’s the way to get faster.

Troll. The pool has a ten year waitlist.

We did join the waitlist before we had kids. We bought a place in North Arlington as newlyweds. We knew that our kids were likely to have natural swim talent so we joined the Overlee waitlist as soon as we closed on our house.

Eewwww. D1 athletes are chill. You sir are not a D1 athlete.

I just don’t understand why you didn’t just title the post Congratulations to OKM instead of trying to bash on Overlee which is one of the nicest D1 pools we swim against.

I don’t think that people outside of D1 understand that outside of Tuckahoe or Chesterbrook any of the other pools can beat each other on any given day. There are a ton of talented kids on all of them. So much depends on match ups, who is or isn’t there, and who wins those super close races…

Congratulations to OKM but I have no doubt that OLV will be just fine.

Tuckahoe! TRC is dynamite, don’t mess with dynamite! Where are my fellow TRC peeps and alums?!?

Don't drag Tuckahoe into this one. This is just trolling.

Overlee, Tuckahoe, and Chesterbrook are all quite obnoxious about always winning.

Just because Overlee wins everything all the time doesn't mean they are obnoxious about it. OKM has some good swimmers and put together a good team. Congratulations on a nice win.

Yeah, but how long can they keep it up? Is this just a good run with a couple families and then flame out and back to lower divisions?

I don’t think so. Look at the week 1 event rankings and there seems to be sufficient young talent at OKM. It helps that NCAP-Burke, Makos, STJ, Sea Devils, and Machine-Audrey Moore all have locations within 5-10 minutes of their pool. Also, and I may be wrong, but I think it’s been a quarter of a decade since a team other than T and CB has won against Overlee. Still, this post clearly was a joke and OP is laughing during his/her/their morning coffee.

Overlee swimmers and parents have been gracious and good sports during our time in NVSL D1.
