I’ve been in the workforce for 28 years and have only worked for companies with PTO for vacation and sick being combined. It’s very common, more common than seperate sick time no? For in person industries yes, you come to work if you’re under the weather but no fever / vomiting for 24 hours - like kids going to school. Now that we all know about masks and there isn’t a stigma attached to wearing one, seems like a good idea for people who are under the weather and are required to either take PTO or be in person to wear a mask. |
| I get separate annual leave and sick leave at the F100 company where I work. |
| I go to work. I’m a teacher with very little sick leave. I have no choice. |
Why would you feel guilty about taking sick days? That's what sick leave is for--RTO is irrelevant. You should feel guilty about coming into office and coughing all over the place. No one wants your germs. |

I went to work after I tested positive for Covid but with minor cold symptoms. It was going around the office so I knew other Covid infected colleagues were also there. But my cube was well away from others surrounded by printers.

| Depends on how much work I had to do that day. I have a lot of sick leave so if I could I would stay home, but that would really depend on the demands of work at the time. |
Well the issue is the total amount of PTO. If you have 4 weeks and opt to come in when you are obviously still contagious that’s a d*ck move. |
Work goes on without you Karen. Stay home. Nobody wants to see your snotty face. |
Good lord. If you insist on using such an outdated insult, at least use it correctly. |
+1 People who don't have sick leave to spare, or like in a restaurant, won't get paid if they don't show up, are going to show up and do the best they can. This is apparently what everyone wanted. If you work at AT&T make sure you sneeze on the CEO's door handles a lot. |
| Afrin and maybe a mask. |
How precious. Too bad printers aren't impediments to the transmission of viruses. |
| Omg I forgot about this since I’ve been remote for so long- I used to get sick ALL THE TIMe. |
| Take leave. |
True. My job we get 4 weeks + 2 weeks for family care. Seems generous enough but people with kids still try to wfh instead of using the family care days, they want to use those for spring break and summer instead of getting a sitter or camp. I have kids too but somehow l make the 6 weeks work and obey the required days in office. It’s far more generous than some of my previous jobs. Some people will push the limits no matter what. |
